I have avoided being in the position of that taxi more than once. I have witnessed a few accidents where someone blew a light. One car hit was not even the first car through the intersection, but the second. Dead on impact. I always check that cross traffic is stopping when I am first at a light that turns green.

The other day, I was with my father and my son (my father was driving) and somebody ran a red-light almost T-boning us. Luckily my dad reacted quickly and hit the brakes as the driver swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid us. It was a close call.
