Hey guys, I've got a fun one here! For about the last 7 months I've been taking up horseback riding lessons and its been great! I have SO much appreciation for experienced riders as its way more complex than I ever thought it was...but its so much fun! Anyway, the owner of the barn had seen some of my work and wanted to know if I could do anything for her truck. Her father did detailing, so she could really appreciate the hard work that I would put into her truck.
So what was on the roster for this detail? Quite a lot after we looked it over together!
*Removal of rear window applique
*Removal or old antenna on rear glass
*Restore rear lights by sanding, compounding, polishing, and re-sealing
*Remove old "hands-free" phone system/charging dock from dash
*Replace burned out fog light
*Replace drivers side fog light assembly/housing with new unit
*Removal of "SIERRA" and "GMC" emblems on tailgate
*Removal of "GMC2500HD" emblems on doors
*Relocation of "DURAMAX DIESEL" emblems on doors
*Touch up paint chips
All of that in addition to an extensive paint decontamination and paint correction! The replacement fog light assembly was provided by Abel Chevrolet where Rich set me up with a good price. Unfortunately I could not get to the bolts inside the bumper to install it, so it would be put in at a later date. After 28 hours, approximately 90% correction was achieved. Since this is a work truck, a full correction was not desired, nor did it make sense. This truck hauls horses and hay afterall...
Here are pictures after having the truck dropped off....
Swirls!
Severely faded tail lights
Rear window applique and antenna to be removed and 3rd brake light cover to be polished up.
More swirls
Wasp nest inside the mirror! Thank goodness it was unoccupied
Blasting out the years of dirt buildup
Yes, this needs to be cleaned too
