Fk 425

thought i would bust it out today and give it a try. truck was washed last night. so it just needed a wipe down today. FK425 & cobra MF. spritzed it on each panel and wiped off. no issues. no better or worse than other products in this line. it did not streak. and did produce a decent shine. it did not out do my go to detailer, DP FINAL GLOSS DETAILER. my favorite.

I'm a big fan of FK425. Leaves the surface clean, slick, and glossy, and IME, it seems to do a great job of keeping dust from sticking to the paint. :bigups

looking at it this morning (had to get gas) it did indeed leave a glossy finish.

FK425 is my only true QD. The only other one I have is ONR mixed for some spot cleaning as needed.

It's not Z-6 but, for about half the price it's an excellent QD.....

Meh. For me the FK425 continues to be a PITA. After a call with some techie kind of folks, they did admit that it "doesn't get along well" with some finishes (it leaves dark streaks really badly). It was suggested to try it diluted with distilled water 1:1.

That's helped, but I'd say about 1/3 of the time it still streaks badly, and when it does it's a pain to get off. It does this on both my cars (different brands and LSPs).

I may try diluting it a bit more, since that helped. I must say, I keep trying because when it doesn't streak, it works very well. But it's such a crapshoot as to whether it will streak or not that I have a gallon that's pretty much still full that I may be abandoning....

Tried to take some, but you can only see it at a certain angle in sunlight, and I couldn't capture it in an image. Dark streaks, usually where the product didn't flash right as teh MF went over it, but left a little but and then flashed. Both cars are dark (one is BMW Monaco Blue, the other Lexus Obsidian Black). BMW has Wolfgang DGPS, Lexus has Ultimate Paint Protection. Both finishes are in excellent shape.

Like I said, a real PITA, once it streaks it would be easier to have just put on a new coat of LSP....have to either wash or completely soak (I use a sprayer) with water and wipe off.

I have a thread here somewhere where other folks commented they've experienced the same thing, but it doesn't appear to be common. Also as I've said, when it doesn't streak for me it's excellent - otherwise would have tossed it long ago.

one thing i did notice, after a wash and fk 425 wipedown saturday, today its pouring rain. beading like mad! (truck stayed clean one day) LOL....

If I get any light streaking I will apply it directly to the towel and wipe. Still works amazingly well!
