I have a TSW Cadwell 20 x10 wheel, I recently went to a wheel shop to have the aluminum re-cleared coated and that's it. Monday I dropped it off and picked it up Thursday, went to the counter and payed for the repair with a credit card (BIG MISTAKE) They brought the wheel out and at the first glance it looked horrible. They totally machined the whole wheel where it was uneven doesn't even look like polished aluminum( LOTS OF GROOVES). I told the worker there and he agreed with me as he rubbed the wheel. I told him I was not taking it and to repair it, he told me to come back tomorrow and they will repair it. If the wheel still isn't acceptable can I call my credit card company and cancel the charge, and can I take them to small claims court and get the value of my wheel back or have them order me another wheel on their dime.

Extra info. Wheel previously had curb rash that was repaired, Clear coat was taken off, wheel was wet sanded at 500, 800, 1000, 1200, and 2000 grit, re-polished with a lot of elbow grease and the only thing it needed was a professional clear coat to protect the aluminum.

Most any CC company will allow you to dispute a charge. Polishing aluminum is a very tricky process, takes a lot of practice and the equipment to do so.

Good luck

Actually, that may be the best case scenario. Most credit card companies will stop payment to the company until the problem is resolved. I know for a fact AMX will back up the consumer; with VISA/MC it may be up to the individual bank that issued the card, but they are still usually very helpfull.

Call the "800" number on the back of your card ASAP and tell them you need to dispute a charge.

Did it look like sanding marks or like grinding? I had a polished wheel repaired and it came out great. Did you use a reputable shop?

If you aren't happy with their work I would dispute the charge with your CC company. Make sure you take pictures of the wheel for proof too.

Welcome Black!
Constant communication and documentation with dates, times, and whom you talk to is key. It will also give your CC company more to work with.

Try to give the shop the opportunity to fix it right. These places do talk to each other. Then contact the CC with your documentation.
