Black Audi A5, paint correction & Opti-Guard coating: Rasky's Auto Detailing

Nice job. I love black when it looks like that.... it's the up keep that I don't care for. You have to be so careful to keep from marring the finish

Great work as always Chad! How do you like the PFW pads? Is there something that keeps you using them versus normal wool pads? I've got one, but haven't had a chance to really play around with its abilities. Thanks!

Dave, don't you own a black A5/S5? Do you find the paint to be hard and scratch sensitive too?

I know you're talking to me, but I have two customers (one with a black A5 one with a black S5) and they are very scratch sensitive from what I have seen. Not as much as BMW blacks I have worked on, but you definitely need to be careful when you are wiping off polish or any other product for that matter.

I like the PFW pads as they don't really lint like a traditional wool pad and they also finish down pretty well too. I haven't tried the Tuff-Buff pads yet though either and I hear they are even better yet. If I need heavy cut I reach for the Maroon Solo wool pads. :bigups

Good to know it's not just me then, the paint definitely seemed more prone to marring then most, but was still a bear to correct. Hopefully the OG helps the owner out little. :)

Thanks Again guys!

^ Welcome to my nightmare

The paint marrs fairly easily and yet correcting it usually requires combos usually reserved for harder metallics. One of very few finishes I have worked on that have this strange characteristic, its brutally annoying (especially since my car has some spots on it that now need correcting)

Its okay my new car will be here soon and its orange so I hope I dont have this problem:rockon
