Headliner Restoration

I finally got around to restorting my 9 year old headliner. It was long over due from the day I bought it 5 years ago. I then had purchased it from a couple who where "light"

smokers .

Process...
1) Poorboy's World Bio-Degradable APC - Diluted 15-1 and 10-1 for tougher spots.
2) Section sprayed with APC
3) Scrubbed with toothbrush
4) MF used to "damp" remove loosened dirt.
5) Re-sprayed with APC
6) Quick surface brushing with toothbrush
7) Vacuumed

Wow great! I have a car that needs a re-glued/replaced headliner, wish I had the skills you do to take it out and re-install it--and yours is one for a sunroof too. :bigups

Nice work, HL can be real tricky to clean. If you get to aggressive and the glue comes lose your hosed

Good job! Have you done this before? I was curious if the APC and brushing would seperate the fabric from the foam backing.

I have done a lot more sun-visors and just touch up spots on headliners, this was by far the most comprehensive headliner restoration I've done.

The sunroof was much more delicate during the cleaning than the main headliner. The sunroofs edge had a small amount of fabric pealing before I cleaned it also - so extremely delicate care was taken. After drying I used some 3M interior trim glue to re-glued the fabric down - perfect now

I use 3M trim glue to re-glue headliner fabric; It comes in a arosoual spray or a paste glue. Taking it it was tough, but much easier to work on and maybe your underestimating your skills?

Well, maybe if this car wasn't 22 years old--concern about the clips snapping and such due to their age. It's a situation where there's no practice or "trial run" before doing the actual job--but yeah, I hear that 3M trim glue is really great.

Wow 22 years old, I can understand then. 3M trim glue is some of the best I've used, hands down.
