Fabric Convertible tops

Can you guys offer any advice for taking care of fabric tops. My friend just bought a Mini convertible and I have zero experience with detailing a vert. Any recommended cleaners etc?

Zoom has the answer hands down, its the product I use.

The process is important. During the wash part I use a very soft plastic brush with the cleaner (follow the direction on the container) The brush I have is a boar hair, but something like a finger nail brush would work. Then once the top is dry, I use a shop-vac with a brush attachment to clean up any debris left on the material ( lint is mostly it) Then the protection can of spray which make the top look like new again, maybe even better. Dose your buddies top have a plastic window?
 
Thanks Dave, the finger brush he has mention works great! and another brush I would look at is a shoe shine brush. Works wonders and doesn't damaged the top like a Boar Hairs Brush ( if he doesn't have one ).

The boars hair brush I have I got at a shoe place and is used for buff shoes. Its WAY soft. I have another one that I use on leather and such for inside work. Both make short order of the work
 
Beemer, I believe the window is glass because is has a defrost/heating element in it. At least I hope it's glass! Why do you ask?

The plastic ones can require polishing to keep from turning hazy. I was going to make some suggestion on how that's done and what to use. Sounds like yours is glass, if not let me know.
 
All the above.... Raggtop is all I use for my cobra's soft top. Also no one mentioned but treating the top seals (like the one at the top of the windshiled) every so often with a product like Gummi Pfledge. Keeps them from shrinking and drying out.
