07 Toyota Tacoma Radiant Red

I'm getting fustrated with the oem single stage red paint that on my 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Its always garaged stored and majority of the time I apply spray wax after each wash. I did a full clay bar, Zano z5 and then applied with Zano polish. I'm still not impressed on how this paint looks in full sun light.

Any tips or products I could use that would make the final product look better?

Many swear by topping a sealant (IIRC like Zanio polish) with a carnuba wax to warm it up, add depth and minimize the 'plastic' look.

Poorboy's Natty's has lots of fans hereabouts. There are also other 100% carnuba choices.

Have you used a machine polisher like a Griots or Megiars or Makita rotary? You might have to step up to a machine to really clean that single stage paint and bring back its clarity.

I agree with machine polishing first with a DA machine to ensure that the paint looks as good as possible before applying the sealant, then top with a carnauba paste wax. Souveran would be my choice to make red look tasty.

Completely agree with these guys. You probably need to machine polish it with a DA. Will be time consuming but will give you the results your looking for.

Yes, Toyota solid colors (red, white, black) are single stage paint. Metalics and pearls get factory clear coat.

I own a 08 tacoma that is also radiant red. I recently just did a full detail with M105 and M205 with my Flex XC 3401 and topped with BFWD and it looks amazing. I always get people asking me if its new and are surprised when i tell them it's 3 1/2 years old ( with bad winters ).I am surprised to here about the single stage paint on your 07 but have to tell you that as i was compounding and polishing my front bumper and valance i was getting paint transfer on my pad and got really nervous. Keep in mind i did my whole truck and this was the only spot i had an issue with paint transfer or maybe it was just tinted clear coat. The clear on my truck it really hard and i started from least aggressive and ended up using a yel pad with 105 on speed 6 and a lot of pressure and still only removed 70% of swirls and such. I ordered a PFW pad and will try that next time which should cut more.

It's very possible that the bumper was single stage. A lot of times bumper covers and other trim pieces are painted offsite and then attached during final assembly.

I was not aware of that. This was my first time doing a correction so i was a little surprised when this happened. I bought the truck new and have been the only one caring for it so i just proceeded with caution.

Back when I had a radiant red Tacoma, I wanna say one of the best looking LSP's I ever used was Liquid Souveran. At one time, I had a few pics on this site of that truck with a fresh application (after prep work, of course) of LS.

Not to degrade the integrity of your work at all, but I think you need to concentrate on doing the prep-work more so than just what LSP looks the best, but without really seeing the truck (or at least photos) it will be hard to tell. I'd say about 90% of the time when someone as scrutinizing as you appear to be is unhappy with the finished look, it's more often not enough time spent to get that last little bit of 'defect' out of the finish rather than the LSP not living up to standard - especially with a class topper like Zaino.
