Wax suggestions?

While i wait to either buy a PC, or find a pro to correct my paint, I was thinking of using a new wax to try and hide my spiderwebbing.

What waxes have NO polish or abrasives, and have a decent amount of fillers? I'm looking for something that will just hide the spiderwebs and maybe diminish the look of swirls for now...

What do you guys think of Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #26 Hi-Tech Yellow Wax?

I have used the Megs NXT 2.0 & Prima Banana Gloss. I have found that they both seem to hide minor spider webbing and swirls. Although they only seems to last about 4-6 weeks before I want to re-apply. But I like to wax my car about once a month anyway. :D

Over the counter I would recommend meguiers #7 glaze topped with megs 26. If you order from online I would recommend poorboys world black hole topped with EX-P. Megs 26 only last for about a month or 2. In my expeirence.

Great process and will do just what your looking for. Easy on and easy off quick application with the BH to help hide those spider webs and give the paint a show car shine than the EX-P to seal it all in :rockon

Great suggestion but I would polish the car before laying the BH glaze on the car...very least clay the car.

Wheelman, Meg's #26 is a very nice wax which is really nice on the solid color paints and should provide some filling/hiding. Adding an extra step as several have suggested above should provide additional filling/hiding.

Wash, clay, Menzerna glaze, and I'd just use Automagic's Hydroshine after each wash to protect. That has a lot of fillers and is stupid easy to use!

Sounds like you are new to detailing and are looking for a solution you can do by hand.
BTW - You have not told us what make, model and color the vehicle is?

Glazes that are applied before wax have fillers that will hide some swirls temporarily.
IMHO - Black Hole is a dark product and is probably better suited for a dark/black paint.
For applying a glaze by hand I would probably recommend ClearKote Vanilla Moose Hand Glaze.

Although glazes with fillers have been discussed I might recommended a different approach for you.

Meguiar's has two products "Ultimate Polish" & "Ultimate Wax" that you may wish to check out.

Ultimate Polish can be used by hand and has rich polishing oils that give a visual pop.
Follow MEGS Ultimate Polish with MEGS Ultimate Liquid Wax to seal the paint.
MEGS UW is a brand new "clean sheet of paper" 100% synthetic formula.
The liquid UW will not stain trim and takes 15-20 minutes to do a car.
The stuff in the UW paste that makes it a paste can stain trim.
The longevity from the UW paste vs. UW liquid is the same.
The look is more like Carnauba rather than "saran wrap".
Wait time 12-24 hours between coats of Ultimate Wax.

Although I like paste for therapeutic reasons ...the UW liquid is easier, faster, same look, same longevity and won't stain trim.
(It's a no brainer 4 me)

If you're wanting to "remove" defects in the paint, IMHO another product would be more appropriate. MEGS 105/205 with a DA.

Yes i'm fairly new to detailing. Never really cared before beyond just washing or taking my previous car's to the local tunnel-o-swirls drive-thru. I got more interested in detailing in late 2008 when i got a BMW.

The car is a 2004 Saleen Mustang S281 convertible. It's Ford's "Sonic Blue" color... kind of a darker royal blue with hints of purple in certain light.

I currently have been using Meg's Tech Wax 2.0. I've clayed the car. and i touch up almost every other day (between washes) with Meg's Ultimate Quik Detailer.

Is the Tech Wax not providing the hiding you are seeking? Strictly from an appearance perspective, IMO Tech Wax looks really nice on darker blue paints (specifically the pre 2.0 version). Your current process seems pretty sound. Have you applied multiple coats of the Tech Wax? IIRC it has some cleaners in it so it won't exactly be layering, but the paint does appear to benefit from more than a single application. Perhaps following the next week's wash.

If you are merely looking for another wax, then there are endless possibilities, but you might just get more of the same as far as results. I think you already know that good and proper prep (read polishing) is going to provide you with the best possible results.

That all said, do as I say, not as I/we (along with a lot of other folks on this site) do. I think most of us have been guilty of chasing that elusive “magic” wax/sealant/polish etc. and etc. Bought and used a lot, luckily I’ve had plenty of vehicles on which to use them otherwise my “collection” would be far larger than it is.

THAT is an amazing turn around! Was this applied by hand?

Well the Tech Wax looks alright, but a far as hiding/filling it doesn't do a whole lot for me. I've never done more than one layer tho... Before switching to Tech Wax I was using Mother's Pure Carnauba and it looked a little better, but didn't last at all...

Here's my problem:

Sorry for the cell phone pics, but the second pic definitely captured more of what i'm seeing everywhere on the car. It's real bad in florescent lighting like in a garage or parking lot at night...
