Something Seriously Wrong

My immediate reaction is why did they leave the Army if they need a job.

We have been told that anyone who does not have a job is lazy and does not deserve a handout (like extending unemployment benefits) since it will encourage them to stay unemployed.

Only excuse for that window mount would be if it doubles as a GPS? Don't know if it does or not. I certianly don't want anyone reading while they asre behind me on the road at any speed!

they said on the program that many are done with their commitment, most have drug and alcohol problems, some have Post traumatic stress syndrome, a large majority were injured ... I don't think they were talking about those in good health (physical or mental) that just come back and start a normal life or return to jobs they were called up from reserve duty.

There was also a brief mention of how many soldiers return in terrible financial trouble due to just poor money management while away ..from rent and mortgages not being paid to credit cards, car payments and phone bills also.

Take it from someone that has served in the Army, it is not an easy life. You spend countless days away from your family and when you come back, you are not the same person that they remember. You change, they don't. Some are handled to accept this change and move on, some are not. What about those that are medically discharged from the military, we should just tell them it is their fault they don't have a job anymore. I am not saying that all veterans are good people, obviously their are good and bad. However, saying that they should have stayed in the Army is a very ignorant statement. If you did not serve in the Army, you have no right to talk about people that did.

Remember, we need out military. It won't just go away when people stop volunteering - every homeless veteran you see might have taken your spot in the Army, Navy, Air Force or Marines.
