Adams Polishes

Products that work well in the sun and on hot paint surfaces contain large amounts of silicone oils. Silicones oils do not dry out and harden nor do they stick to the paint the way polymers and carnauba wax does.

Maybe I'll give the Adam's Detail Spray a try if it works even better than Meguiar's Final Detail. I just love how cheap the FD is. I can pick up a gallon for $16. FD is great to use at outdoor car shows where I have no control over the sun or heat. Another popular product at car shows that works well in the sun is BeadX but I don't use it as I don't like the owner of the company.

If you have a choice it is always adviseable to wash/wax your vehicle when the surface is cool to the touch and in shade.

How new are those vehicles though? If they are pretty new even Turtle Wax will make them shine like that. Thats what killed me about people on FTW... on a brand new 04 they are saying this product or that product are the ones that made that shine. Like Nick said, the battle between Adams/Poorboys users have killed FTW.

I should clarify that it was NOT Adams that put all the scratches and swirls on his paint, but in one area it did. It was done with Scratch Out. That section I had to use Megs DACP :)

Adams Detail Spray smells good and from what I hear works good. Now that I have been using Megs FD even in the sun on black cars without streaks .. I can say that is one of the best out there I have tried yet.

F-250 was an 03' purchased in Sept of 02'.

Big Rig is a couple years old, but it drove 2,500+ miles from Cali to get to the car show. It was a mess when it got there!!

The Hood and Reflection shot is on my everday 1999 Explorer (strictly Adam's Revive, then BW) back in April of last year

I never got the actual year of the "Modified" M7, but I think it was 98-00.

John, I don't see how the Adam's Scratch Out or Revive put scratches into the finish. Revive has absolutely no abrasives, and Scratch Out uses a microabrasive that is less abrasive than toothpaste. The only thing that I can think of is that it was left on there longer than it should be. This is the only product that he suggests not using on HOT vehicles, or ones that have been in the sun all day. A spritz of Detail Spray and a MF removes them everytime. I'm not questioning if they were scratches or not, but I think your applicator had something wrong/to do with that one IMO :dunno

--Another thing about Scratch Out that Adam's does is import it's abrasives from Germany, because he feels as if the quality of them is better than what he can get here. He has 5 different chemists working on his line. Most companies will have only 1 company producing their own line.

P.S. I do not work for Adam's, nor am I a distributor of their products

Cujo, that brings up a good point. Here is a total revamp of a total mess. 2001 F-250 with 110,000 miles on it. This is the definition of a "work truck". I didn't want to bombard this thread with pictures, but oh well.

The process was:
-Adam's Wash and Wax and Adam's Professional Wash Pad and Adam's Wash Bucket
-Dry with Adam's HUGE (26x37) Waffle Weave MF
-Adam's Clay with Adam's Detail Spray
-Adam's Scratch Out/Revive 50/50 on PC at 5.5
-Adam's Revive on PC at 4
-Adam's Brilliance Hand Glaze by hand
-Adam's Butter Wax with PC on 3

**All polishes/waxes were removed with Adam's super soft MF
**Chrome (bumper and Pipe) and Aluminum Rims were done with Adam's Aluminum Polish.
**Tires dressed with Adam's VRT

Hope I wasn't implying that Revive stained trim, I didn't mean to. Just the Meguiars pad that I use it for. I have tried several different APC's to clean it, guess I need to try the GL. No biggie, anyway, I just save the pad for the Revive. It's easy to spot, the only orange Meguiars polishing pad that I have. lol Great work on the truck, also! Take care.

Gary

No, no Gary, not at all, I was just pointing out another "benefit" of the product. In reality, we all should have 1 pad, one product :)

I just know a degreaser will break it up easier.

Take Care,
Nick

Nick like always i have to compliment your fablous work. But maybe you corrected this after the pictures where taken but the Wheel wells on that truck look horrible and ruin the gorgous image you have made with the paint.

Nick ... I know you are a damn good detailer bro I would never question that. Even the befores dont look that bad ... yea a little muddy but thats nothing to detailers. Now if it were oxidized, swirls, fish eyed, scratched, etc ... and it was all taken out by Adams products can I see applauding them. Tires and rims can look like that with just about any product out there. Do you see what I mean? Poorboys can do that, Meguiars can certainly do that, Mothers, 4*, etc ...

The after shots look killer, but the truck looks like it is well maintained.

Hopefully you see where I was going with this.
