Yep that was my ambulance. I wasn't at work but was called and told that my regular ambulance was in flames. Happened right in front of the hospital. Luckily no one was in it at the time.

Here is a crappy video of it in flames..

I don't think that's going to buff out to well, maybe the back half...good to hear that no one was hurt or even worse that you where in route with an emergency on board

Beercan31's pretty good at shining up various emergency vehicles, you might ask him?

Glad that no one was hurt!

Worst part is the crew that had it that night smelled something burning and the lights were flickering but they didn't do anything about it until the next crew came in. Plus it just came back from the shop too.

WOW That really sucks, I also am glad no one was hurt. from the burn pattern looks like it started in drivers side engine compartment.

there EMT's or Paramedics not mechanics.. for you guys blood goes round and round air goes in and out and deviation from this is bad

your not alone on this, Flanders, NJ lost a Rig in there fire house,
Infamous ambulance burns inside New Jersey fire & rescue building. Flanders’ rig helped extend ‘lemon law’ to emergency vehicles. | STATter911.com

we also had problems on a call where we were dispatched mutual aid in to Bedminster for a MVC on Rt 78 multi cars multi injuries. we had 2 rigs fully staffed and I was the second rig driver, as we were in route we noticed our siren was sounding funny.. not screaming up high.. sounded sick.. we all thought the siren was failing.. so little did we know. on scene we were given 2 patients each rig all 4 on back boards.. preparing to pull away from the scene I stepped on the break and the siren did be momentary bruuuuuuu. the state trooper though I wanted him.. NOT ! ! ! as I was driving away I noticed 0 volts on the amp meter...yeh this is bad.. no break lights, no emergency lights, no turn signals.. NO RADIO.... I told all EMTs turn off all non life saving equipment.. I could hear switches flipping like pop corn.. needless to say we made it to the hospital and back to the squad bld. BARELY never shut down the rig. found out we lost all 3 battery's and the 500amp alternator in 1 fell swoop.. the loss of voltage burned electronic Circuit boards all over the rig but no fire.
