95 Mustang GT-R paint correction

"Luck" Residue of design
This car belongs to one of my newest clients. It is a 95 Mustang with a 331 cid. stroker supercharged engine with just shy of 600 horse power (sorry no engine pics) The car had a total repaint some years ago. Besides a real deep wet sanding tracer and one spot where the clear was wet sanded through (I avoided that area with the compound/polish steps) and one small sag in the paint, the paint was pretty nice except it was as hard as diamonds. The paint was moderately marred from poor washing technique. I tried to capture the paint defects but the white paint blinded my camera so I am just showing the gloss in the after pics. I was able to achieve about 95% correction.

After wash and clay, 1 pass with:

rotary- PFW pad and a heavy compound (local supplier) 1500 RPM

It took 2 passes each with:

rotary white PB VC pad and Optimum Compound 2 1500 RPM
rotary white PB VC pad and Optimum finish polish 2000 RPM - 1500 RPM

1 rotary pass with red PB VC pad and PB PWS 900 RPM

After cure time for the PWS I applied a coat of a generic carnauba paste wax.

Glass got a DA pass with orange CCS pad and PWS

Trim got a coating of PB Trim Restorer

Wheels, tires and wells were cleaned with a citrus cleaner and EZ-Detail brush. Topped with a coating of PB EX-P.

Tires got a coating of a generic silicone dressing. We are going to pull the wheels and recon the barrels at a later date.

Awsome work! No such thing as a GT-R mustang. Car also looks ricey. IF he does have a 5.4 supercharged that is sweet thou.

OK I didn't know about the R thing, Kind of thought that might be a Pep Boys Emblem. The car sounded like a sprint car when he was moving it around for me so it definitely has a wild motor in it. Thanks for the compliments guys.

That looks like the autozone knock-off of a Nissan GTR/Skyline badge.... so yeah not real.

Now, there WAS a Mustang SVT Cobra-R back in 1993, 95, and 2000, but that too was totally different.

pssssssssssssst, I own a GT-R! Its an 07 Mustang that was sent to the Regency conversion comapny in Texas (Explanins the two tone paint, and other little things) as for that....autozone =( its a sad site to see a riced out mustang, and i never really cared for the sn-95 body style =\ but nice job, none the less.

Nice work. I always liked white Mustangs, & the 03-04 Cobra wheels always look good on the earlier SN-95's.

What does this conversion include? Is anything done to the power train or is this limited to wheels and a body kit? I've heard of Van Conversions by Regency. Hate to say it but I feel dumb on this one.

That "Cammer" 302 must be like the side oiler 427 from back in the day.

It is a rock solid track performer. The last time I looked it was only sold as a crate engine and it was expensive. I read something the other day about this being the basis of the 2011 power plant.

GH, there was a Regency Conversions, Inc. located in Ft. Worth (pronounced Foat Wuth ;)). AFAIK, they did truck, van and SUV conversions. I think they have closed their doors.

Ill list everything i can think off the top of my head (some options were not done on mine.)

Performance : Full Ford Racing Suspension, Flowmaster Exhaust w/ high flow cats, functional shaker w/ cold air

Appearance : The two tone paint, Foose Nitrous 20'' rims in toyo's, billet upper and lower grills with foglight deletes, full body kit conversion, loaded interior with all the stupid bells and whistles, glass roof, louvers over back quarter windows, shaker 1000 audio, etc.

Are limited production, but as for #'s i was told in 2007 (which was my year) only 1700 were made, (said a guy at a car show that happend to own one as well, but who knows?) in a couple different color combinations. Unfortunatly the fine people who did the conversions went under and I have no way of finding which number my car happen to be sense im not the original owner.

Theres way to many options available on these things they originally sold for 50k which is WAY over priced for an N/A trust me! And as for mine, i kinda went crazy with the mod's :D

As for that SN-95 above, im sure you already know ;)

Full ford racing suspension, Flowmasters w/ high flow cats and h pipe, stage 2 clutch, lightenend flywheel, Roush cold air intake, hurst short throw shifter, NX nitrous 100 shot w/ digital window switch, wide open throttle switch, single perge, bottle warmer etc., 4.10 gears, and SCT SF3 hand held tuner with custom tune.

feel like im forgetting something but no sure??

In the works a built short block stroked to a 5.0, havent decided whether or not i want this one to be bottle fed or forced induction, im kinda leaning to the Kenne Bell Mammoth.
