The very same day as the incident in California a woman in New York was pulling out of a drive and blasted into a stone wall putting her in the hospital.

I'll bet she is just trying to get money :crazy2:

As for Sikes the guy from California looking for money he may be but it took several years and a class action law suit before Toyota owners ever saw a dime over their sludge monster engines.
I bet this guy don't have any better luck than they did.

This recall has cost Billions late last summer Toyota cut the pay of their employees 20 percent claiming if 2010 was not better than 09 they would be bankrupt.
Well it has not gotten better so are they going broke or were they lying to the employees

Maybe I missed it, but where exactly did this info come from? Is there a press release or a link? I'd be interested to read that. I seem to recall Toyota, when deciding to close the NUMMI plant giving a payout of some sort to the remaining employees. (This, after GM had already pulled out and left everyone high and dry.)

And if I recall, I believe there is a story out there regarding the NY Prius incident speculating that it was due to driver error (i.e hitting the accelerator when she thought she was braking or something). Not 100% sure on that, though. Might be worth a Google search if anyone is interested.

I got my information from my grandson he works at Toyota
He is not a temp he is full time.

Toyota uses a lot of what they call temporary workers don't matter if you have been their for several years you are a temp and can be laid off at a moments notice anytime.

Last word I saw on the New York deal was this morning news Toyota wanted the car and the NY police refused to give it to them until after the NHTSA had a chance to look at it.

Rather than take Toyota's word for what is on the EDR they want to look for themselves.

All the speculation could stop if Toyota would just make the data available like other manufactures do.

What are they trying to hide if I wreck my car here in Indiana the police can download from the EDR and tell if I was speeding on the throttle or brakes but not with a Toyota that info can only be retrieved by Toyota.

For those who don't know EDR is event data recorder

If they are correct and this is all the drivers fault they could prove it over night just release the EDR data.
 
That stinks about the pay cut for your grandson, Bart. We had a similar situation where I work (defense contractor). It was take pay cuts or lots of layoffs (for the hourly union employees).

I agree with the data recorder idea - why not just let an independent party review the data alongside the Toyota people?
