Leadership Committee

To follow up a post made by Troy, http://www.detailcity.org/forums/dc-news-updates-feedback/27928-new-dc-moving-forward.html we are creating a Leadership Committee to help with day to day operations of the forum. This will help Troy as he devotes time to his family and detailing business and also help Detail City to grow by enlisting the help of qualified persons to assist in the daily maintenance and future growth of the forum.

By the first of the year we will be selecting a few new moderators to help us out. Not just looking for help enforcing the rules but more for being interactive in conversations to help with topic discussions. A knowledge of detailing and car care is a must have as well as a passion for helping to add new life to the forum.

Detail City supporter Steve from Poorboys will also be taking on a role on the Leadership Committee helping out and also, Dwayne from Autogeek has offered to be a part of this team as well. We will be adding a few more in the next few weeks to start the new year with a dream team of leaders and moderators.

If you think I would make a good candidate count me in. I work from my home so I am on the site most all day checking in and out of that is of any importance

:idea :yikes: :passout: :surrender

J/K, Keep checking you PM box for the invitation. ;)

I saw a post elsewhere which referenced said committee. I had meant to inquire about the specifics, and before I can do so, my questions is answered. This anonymous admin guy (or gal?) is on the ball. Looking forward to hearing even more.

That sounds like a good idea. But do you really want sponsers being moderators? I dunno i know steve and dwayne are stand up guys but i just see it as a conflict of intrest. I'm a member of a few other forums and theres not many sponser/moderators on them. I just see it as, its supposed to be an open forum but if you have sponsers running/moderating the place its not really open. Just my 2 cents.

Please reread.

"By the first of the year we will be selecting a few new moderators to help us out."

That means moderators have not been selected yet and the sponsors are not moderators. The leadership guys have a different job than that.

"to assist in the daily maintenance and future growth of the forum."

That means recruiting successful people in the industry that want Detail City to be successful. Like the old saying goes, two heads are better than one.

Invitation? there better be wine at this party:rofl

This is DetailCity. There is always whine...er...wine at our parties. :D :rockon Believe you me... as a moderator on a site like this you will certainly hear it all. Just a word of advice for those of you who would like to participate: Being a moderator on a site like this isn't just about dropping the axe on spammers and deleting duplicate accounts. There is a level of diplomacy that has to be kept up since often times it is the moderator staff that sets the mood for the board that also builds its reputation. Nazi moderators will ensure that nobody wants to join just like slack moderators will do the same thing. Being a moderator is a lot of work and you should probably be able to commit several hours a week to being on the forums keeping things on track and participating. That is from experience moderating several forums including some detailing ones. ;)
