This is a 1999 VW Passat – owner of the car is the wife of one of the owners here at the place I work. To be plain and simple – this car is not properly maintained at all – inside or outside. Contamination was at its worse. The claying process started off real loud (like sandpaper) and was whisper quiet when finished.
Here we go:
Wash - 2 bucket method - PB's SS&S
Ricardo Blue clay - with PB's S&W mixed 50:50 with water - ugh lots of contaimination
Exterior process was a nightmare. I started off with the Flex – orange CCS pad and PB’s SSR2.5 and finished with the Flex, white CCS pad and PB’s SS1. This worked great for a panel or two. Then switched to the Makita rotary, white CCS pad and SSR2.5 and finished with the Flex, white CCS pad and SSR 1. Got to the hood and multiple attempts with the rotary and the white pad wasn’t cutting it. So I switched to the orange CCS pad and SSR 2.5 and it got a lot better. (I need some PFW). Even on the passenger side of the car I would have to do the rotary, orange CCS and 2.5 twice to get it acceptable. UGH!!
By no means was the cars finish - perfect. Close but no cigar.
LSP – 4* UPP using foam applicator
Tires were APC and scrubbed – wheels were hit twice with PB’s Spray and Rinse. I did not have time to finish polish with PB’s PP 2, but will the next time around. The S&R worked great in removing 90% of the built up grime, but some still remained.
Tires and wells – PB’s B&B
Interior was another nightmare. (sorry no pictures - running out of time here today) 10 years of abuse. My process was PB’s APC mixed 10:1 (water/APC), scrubbed with interior brush on PC. Some leather scrubbed twice.
Leather seats were coated with PB’s LS
Door panels were scrubbed using PB’s APC 10:1 and coated with PB’s NL
Floor mats were hosed down, scrubbed with PB’s APC 10:1 using carpet brush on PC and rinsed off - placed on driveway to dry.
On to the pictures:

One interior pic – Looks close for that was just a 50/50 of the center of the seat after one attempt. UCK!!!
