Duragloss/Zaino

While I don't personally put much stock in the so called similarities between the Zaino and Duragloss lines, I did read a list of one persons thoughts on comparable products.
My use of Zaino was many years ago. Before the "Pro" designation. I wasn't impressed enough to buy more. Good, but nothing special. That's based only on appearance. Longevity has never been a priority for me. I'll be adding more before long anyway. :D
My use of Duragloss has been limited to #501, #601, #105, and Aqua Wax. Good results with all of them. In fact I liked the AW enough to buy a gallon of the stuff. :) The DG is definitely priced right.

Anyway, the comparable products he listed:

501 similar to ZAIO (slightly stronger cleaning with 501)
111 similar to Z2
105 similar to Z5
221 similar to Z10
951 similar to Z8
921 similar to Z6
601 similar to ZFX
441 similar to Z9
671 similar to ZPC.

There you have it. His ideas seemed to be pretty well put, but I don't really know.
Don't really care, but some people might.

This discussion has been around for ages.

Some of the things I read was Z and the owner of Duragloss worked together or something like that.

Actually, the reason for the post was to give Zaino users some ideas as to what DG products they could use as a substitute.
Hey, if they are the same product, (which I really doubt), and Sal can build a cult following and sell them at higher prices, then more power to him.

If someone can take even the same product, command a higher price by creating the cult, etc. then it is just capitalism based upon superior marketing.

The problem is that concept seems to annoy a lot of people when they try to claim so and so's product is just made by you know who.

Charles is just antsy to try out his new Online Nomex Suit. The flames he should receive in an online detailing forum for insinuating that a product is even comparable to Zaino should be a nice test. :D

I can lend him my asbestos undies.

The Z ites should be going nuts right now.

A little over 6 years ago, I was really ripped on at a different forum for suggesting that a guy that preferred the look of Meg's#26 compared to Zaino should use the #26 regardless of what all the Zaino fans were telling him he must have done wrong.
At the time I had close to 1000 posts there and the "good old boys" suggested I go back to Detail City.
I did. :D

This sounds like you were hanging out at Corvette Forum that is by far the worst for the shills that are paid to push Z :passout:

Nope, but I know what you mean.
I don't participate in any of the Corvette Forums or Clubs anymore. A little too cliquey for me.
I never got involved in any detailing discussions, but I will never forget the guy that was bragging about his 10 coats of Zaino on his black Vette that had so many swirls in it, it looked like he had applied the Zaino with a Brillo pad. Hey, the swirls were shiny so maybe that's all that counts. :D
FWIW, I don't doubt in the least that Zaino has good products, but so do many, and I do mean many, other companies. I have so many really good products that my real problem is deciding which one to use today. :)
