Opinons needed: Volvo XC90

Update:

I fell kinda bad since I never updated my story about our car search. Sold the 4Runner within days of posting it on Craigslist. A couple drive from Marietta, GA to Oxford, AL to come by it. With a wad of cash. :D

We finally wound up getting a 2009 Toyota Highlander Limited. In pearl white. (I don't know what it is about white cars, but I really am wishing I would have gotten me another white Tacoma after my wreck.) Pics to come at some point. I even bought a new bottle of Z-2 Pro for it - don't shoot me.

Pearl White Solara! We agreed that it was a very eye catching color. Congrats the the missus on her new wheels.

Did you also pick up some ZFX to go along with the Z2P? What will you be laying down for a base?

No, I skipped the ZFX. I am not one to really get into layering all at once. I'll probably do an polish with something like M205, an IPA wipedown and lay down a coat of Z2. Then follow up with another coat after the next wash.

I also bought some Z5 for my Tacoma.

Gotta run, the Emperor is calling.... :D

Look forward to your results!

The Emperor? Does he have any clothes? :D

:redface:I'm slow.

Actually I think that forum died from disinterest. Of course it's hard to generate interest when the bulk of your posters talk about how much they don't detail their cars. :D What kind of hobby is that?

Shows you how much I keep up with the other boards. :) I do actually visit Autogeek every now and again, and when I am really bored I'll see what's brewin' at Autopia. I'd rather just be ignorant and happy over here I guess.

Now that you have fallen under the rule of the Emporer, you needn't waste any more time with detailing boards. They'll (we'll) just corrupt you and label you a ZZ (Z Zealot) and cast aspersions upon you. :D

Did you buy some Z6 and Z8 too? You know I'll expect one of your stellar appraisals. :D

Actually, I skipped out on those two for two reasons. First being the budget, and second being that I have so many QD's already I didn't need any more. I actually posted my thoughts on both back some time ago when Kirk sent me some Z stuff to try. Definitley was NOT impressed by the bottles/sprayers. They leaked bad. Z6 I wasn't so crazy about, but I really did like the Z8. Problem is, there's other QD's that i think work equally as well as it does.

My game plan is to do about 3 coats of the Z2 on the Highlander and see how that looks and protects against waterspots. I have experienced spotting with Z2 in my past uses with it (as have some others) and I may top it off with a carnauba to try and fight that. We'll see.

Of course, now I'll get it from both sides - bashed for using Zaino in the first place, and bashed by the faithful users for pointing out a derogatory comment about it. Haha.:rofl

Congrats on the new purchase, JP!! Thought for a moment of PM'ing you about your truck. Then didn't. Glad you got it sold. I am still looking! I find a different and more expensive truck each day on ebay. No purchase in site for me, alas.
