Long Distance Detail #1
So I was summoned by my wife’s uncle to go to Illinois and detail some cars. So far I have 9 cars lined up to detail.
First up - This one belongs to my wife’s uncle’s wife.
BMW Z4 – 2006
The wheels were disgusting and interior needed some NL and a good vacuum really bad. Paint seemed to be in ok shape, but the hood has some marring on it.
Wash – 2 bucket method – PB’s SS&S
Clay – Ricardo Blue – Not a lot of contamination of the car
The paint was a one step process using:
M105 mixed with PWC Blue – white CCS pad with Flex. Hood was done twice. The polishing pads seemed to conform to the in and outs of these curved panels.
PB’s – Black Hole – CCS finishing pad and PC
PB’s - EXP – 2 coats – dampened MF applicators
Wheels – P21 gel cleaner, PB’s new PP2 w/ MF – PB’s Wheel sealant
Tires – PB’s BnB on tires and wells
Exhaust tips – PB’s PP2 with mf towel
Interior – PB’s APC 10:1 on seats – PB’s NL on seats, dash & door panels
Engine compartment – PB’s APC mixed in 3 gallon water – MF towels
I have to thank my son who came with me on the trip for helping on this car. He cleaned all the wheels, engine compartment and dressed tires and wells. He also dried the car as I was claying.
