This was interesting in that it made me think for a minute.
I don't really have a normal wash routine. It varies because of many factors.
An example when not very dirty.
1. Remove carpeted mats, vacuum, surface clean with Meguiar's APC+ and a brush. Set aside to dry.
2. Vacuum interior and trunk.
3. Clean exterior with Poorboy's Spray & Wipe. Spray on with a pump-up hand sprayer, wipe with two good MF towels.
4. Clean wheels with S&W and a Meguiar's body brush and a foam mug scrubber. Final wipe with cotton terry towels.
5. Clean & dress tires and wheel wells with Poorboy's Bold N Bright, using a couple of different cleaning tools. OXO body brush on the tires, foam mug scrubber and toilet bowl brush on wheel wells. Terry towels for final wipe.
6. Clean interior vinyl and leather with Meguiar's APC+ and a terry cloth towel.
7. Apply 303 to interior vinyl and leather and buff off. Terry cotton towels used.
(7a). Clean leather seats each month with 4 Star Ultimat Leather cleaner and condition them with 4 Star Ultimate Leather Conditioner. Terry cloth towels used.
8. Wash windows with Meguiar's Detailer Line Glass Cleaner. (Thanks Norah) :bigups and a waffle weave MF towel.
9. Wipe door sills, trunk, engine compartment using S&W and tery cloth towels.
10. Vacuum the carpeted mats that are now dry and replace them in the vehicle.
Moderately dirty.
Same basic procedure, but using a rinseless wash in step #3.
When using the rinseless wash product, I use a Cobra Bone MF covered sponge at this time, but it might be a sea sponge, a grout sponge, cotton chenille wash mitt, cotton chenille covered sponge or a plush MF towel. All have worked good for me.
After my first drying pass with a good MF towel during which I leave the surface slightly damp, I spray some Duragloss Aqua Wax on the panel and then finish drying with a second MF towel. Washed and waxed in one process.
Really dirty.
1. Run it through the touchless wash first to knock off the heavy accumulation of crud during the winter.
Hose the crud off in the driveway during warmer weather.
2. Use one of the previously described methods to finish.
