prep for storage under cover, Help

"Luck" Residue of design
I know this girl that that is going to Kuwait for 1 year and it contacting me through a friend to detail and prep her car to remain under a car cover for the year that she is gone. Has anyone here at the City done this type of prep work that might suggest a good process/product to preserve the exterior for a whole year under cover. I am assuming that it will be under cover outdoors but not yet sure of that. I am thinking wash, clay, paint cleaner and sealant. TIA for any suggestions, TD

unless it's a very good expensive cover, just detail it and leave it alone ..
 
I would agree with Steve. I store the wife's mustang during the winter here, and I just do a regular detail just like she was going to drive it the next day. When you store it, either remove the battery or hook it to a trickle charger, and crack the windows ever so slightly, this will help the interior breathe and keep the heat buildup to a minimum in the interior.

:cool:Great advice,but I beleive this car will be sitting outdoors:(.I think you should come to an agreement with said party that you will wash off car say once a month.you could also let engine run for 30min. Something else you need to either remove tires or put car on stands so the tires want have flat spots.:cool::dcrules
