Ohhh what a struggle I find myself in..

This morning I started polishing my Wifes 98 Acura which is black, after I did my steps of PB's ssr2.5, then ssr1, I decided to throw on a coat of PB Black hole for a final polish........after I let it haze, I wiped it off and sat back to see the glory that stood before me:drool:

Wow, the paint never looked so dark and lovely, I then proceeded to put on a coat of Nattys red, after I let that sit awhile I wiped it off found that the wax had taken away some of that sharp blackness that the black hole had revealed. Would a sealer be a better choice in this situation?

If it wasn't an everyday driver that set outside I would just go with the black hole as my final step, but I think I will need the protection. What do you guys think? Any ideas?

Hmmmm....that's odd. I'm sure Steve will be along with some ideas. I always thought that Red enhanced the look, not degraded it. I haven't used BH though.

:dcrulesI would go with a sealant after "black hole":dcrules I agree with Ron, seems like it takes a day for the red to settle in.......strange.........but true.

Another point you might consider is that a sealant has a sharp, glossy reflective look. It has been described as a candy coating look.
A wax has a kind of a warmer glow, although glossy in its own right.
And like RonkH said, both seem to look better the next day when curing is done.

It'll be better today. It takes a day or so for the clarity and wetness to shine through.

both good points :bigups

you know i keep debating as to when i need to put down the black hole glaze. some say before the sealant and wax. others say it will break down too soon for the sealant and wax to stay effective. any other opinions on this?can i use it as a LSP after wax? :help:

relax and just do it.
you'll love the results.

Ok, I will have to see what the results are later today, and report back what I find. Thanks for your input gents :howdy

Well, after two times with black hole, two coats of Nattys red, and a chilled S&G wipedown, the final result is just what I was looking for, after letting the wax cure like RonH said, the clarity came through with great results. Here is a shot of the roof. Sorry for strange lighting, it was dark outside so I had to take one in the garage, but you can see the sharpness in the reflection.

Shot of the hood----Dont know what the spots are in the pic, must be lens reflections, they are not on the hood.:hmmm:
