Spray & Wipe with a Spray Wax?

A search didn't turn up anything on this so.....
Tonight I tried using DG Aqua Wax with my S&W when I washed the Grand Prix.
My S&W washes consist of two passes with a MF towel after spraying the S&W on a panel. I use one MF for the first pass that picks up most of the dirt, then I follow with a clean MF to finish drying the section.
Tonight, I tried spraying some AW after the first pass and then wiping off the AW and the remaining S&W with the second MF.
It seemed to work OK after I got somewhat of a handle on how to do it. I'll know better in the daylight if it was a good idea or not.
Do any of you think of any reasons not to do this? Seems like an easy way to combine a wash job and a wax job.
I'm sure Poorboy will think QW+ would be a better product for this use and he might be right, but the AW was what I had on hand. :)

I'm still rolling that rock, Page. ;)

Unless you have a problem with incompatibility of chemicals in the two products I see no reason it would not work just fine.

I posted here a couple years ago about adding AW to FC&S and it works really well.

Next time try that add the AW to S&W shake well and apply then tell us how it works. :)

I do remember your AW/FC&S mix post.
Some of the problems I have with mixing products in the bottle;
How much?
Will they actually mix and stay mixed?
Do I really want to be a chemist? :)

While my method may be out of the ordinary, the products are still basically being used for their intended purpose. It actually was pretty easy to do once I figured out a system.
One question still remains, how does it look in the sunlight. I won't be finding that out for a while since it is cloudy and raining here. :(

I'd be worried I didn't get all the dirt on the first pass, so then I'd be sealing in dirt.
Good point!
And one I hadn't considered. :wall
Probably won't do it again. :(
Oh well, another great idea that wasn't so great. :)

Back to rolling that rock. :D

Well it sure won't take long to apply AW after you have it clean but if it looks good the way you did it then you have a winner. :D

I think FCS has some AW in it or some sort of residual sealant so mixing the two I think makes a slightly stronger FCS or weaker AW depedning on how you look at it. I'm not PB so I can't say for sure but I don't see an issue. S&W is formulated (so I understand) to encapsulate the surface grime so it can be removed and not scratch the surface (using a MF). After the first pass with a MF if you are laying down a spraying of AW and then wiping again - I would not think it would cause any harm.
