Detail city Cash Wash .......

Old Pirate

AMG Classic Car Detailing
I think that Detail City needs a separate section for only car washes. lately some folks had been posting details that are just washes and some wax apply. What do you think? Bad idea or Good one. :idea

When I saw the tile CASH WASH, I thought we were all going to send our money to Troy for cleaning. :)

I accept Pay Pal and all major credit cards. One thing though. You have to bring the cars to me. :D

In the summer I will come to you but the price goes up a bit.;)

Bad one I think.

I hate to discourage people from posting but I would rather not see a showcase of washed (or washed & waxed) cars. Unless the car itself is worthy of showing off. In that case having it in with the detailiers showcase isn't a problem to me.

Doesn't bother me as long as it's stated it's just a simple wash and wax

But if it's just a simple thing then the pic taking should be given more thought to make it stand out more imo

lately I see ....."So in So Detail So in So Car", I think it's a detail but it's only a wash and maybe a wax......Maybe it's my med's doing this to me:hmmm:

I think we all want to see paint transformed from bad to awesome. I enjoy seeing how "detailed" the car looks. Blinding wheels. Wet looking, rich colored paint finish, all the nooks and crannies dealt with etc...

Not everybody is going to have both the talent of detailing the car and the ability to take good pics (either because of equipment or technique)

The anatomy of a good showcase post to me is-

- Short list of what was used.

- Before pics. No more than 5 or so that show how dirty it was and/or how abused the paint finish was.)

- After pics (I would rather not see 10 pics of the same panel at different angles. 4 or 5 pics of different sides of the car along with some close-ups of paint correction, wheels and/or console etc... Side by sides are always nice.

I wish I could say my showcase pics are a good example but there are better ones. I know with me the weather or time of day messes my picture taking up quite a bit. My number one goal is getting the car done for the customer so picture taking has to "fit in" and that doesn't make for the best pictures.

I think he was referring to showcasing work not learning about proceedures and products. ;)
Yes, showcasing their car wash.
I kinda like the idea.

My bad.
I guess I just never noticed it happening all that much, but then again, I don't look at a lot of the click & brag photos.
So many of them are of a vehicle that is new or almost new and I figure a new car should look pretty good. :D

Why?

Is it because you think they are not getting the respect in the brag section or do not belong in the brag section or do you want to see more wash pics?

I do not see why they cannot be in the same folder as the brag photos since there are not that many correction jobs being posted.

That doesn't bother me. It's nice to see a well detailed car even if it's new and didn't take as much skill or effort to get it that way.

To each their own. :D
I often make the comment that "Anyone can have a nice new car, all you have to do is sign the contract. Having a nice old car takes some effort". ;)

Also, it doesn't bother me, I just don't pay much attention to them. If I want to see nice photos of new cars, I look at Motor Trend. :D

I have a Lamborghini and a Vanquish to do tomorrow but they are in too good of shape for my details to show major improvement. So I shouldn't bother taking any pics. Nobody wants to see them I bet. I'll wait until I get a rolling cafeteria to show off my detail skills. ;)
