scratch from fender flare

Has any one ever been able to remove the little scratches caused by fenderflares rubbing back and forth? I tried 3m rubbing compound with ccs yellow on the pc and it just masked it a little

I'm not sure I understand what you are asking?

"caused by fender flares" is what I don't understand

Onmy jeep cherrokee i have black rubber flare on it.. while mine never moved I could see if they where loose they could..

well i removed the fender flares and around the edges of the flare where it contacts the actual fender there is an outlined scratch from the fender flare rubbing.

Can you feel the scratch if you rub your finger or nail over it? I would imagine afer so much vibration after so long, the "scratches" would be embedded pretty good. From the pictures, it looks like the clearcoat is completely gone. If so, it's doubtful you'd be able to "buff" that out.

wet sand, high speed compound, polish, black hole and I think this will only hide them.

That area looks like it has been rubbing for quite some time and has probably gone right through the clear.
You might be able to lessen the appearance of the marring, but I doubt that you will be able to get that out.

not sure there will be enough paint left to do this, but it would be worth a try :hmmm:

oh yea can def feel the scratches looking more towards masking them may try to wet sand compound etc. Does black hole have alot of fillers?

I'm not sure any product will have enough fillers for that :notme:

may just deal with it till i repaint. or put the flares back on
