I think people who buy BMW's usually have a similar need like people who buy Corvettes but for different reasons. They intentionally do not want to own a car most others have even with the expanded choices today. There may be other reasons.

I'd rather have a Bimmer than a Vette. Never could get past the gold chains and manicured fingernails required to own a Corvette!
