Washing your wash mitt?

For years, it was typical for me to rinse out my wash mitt in clean water and figure it was good to go for the next use. I'm really not sure I have ever washed a mitt in the washing machine. Seems to have worked good for a long time.
Now, with the advent of rinseless washes that seem to get the wash media extremely dirty, is that same procedure still OK?
Because the mitt/sponge/pad does get so dirty, I seem to think I need to wash it in some detergent after each use. It isn't really a big deal, but is it a step that isn't necessary?
So...
1. How often do you "rinseless washers" wash your rinseless wash mitts?
2. What are you using for detergent, dish, laundry, other?
3. How are you washing them, by hand or machine?
4. How clean do you try to get them?
5. Would just a thorough rinsing in clean water be sufficient?
6. When will summer be here? :wall

I wash my mitts regularly whether its with a waterless or regular wash.

I use one of those mf wash mitts so i just put them in with my regular mf load.
I used to get away with just rinsing them when I used sheepskin, but i can see the dirt building up on these mitts.

Oh yeah ... as for summer 7 months 5 days ... sorry

What is "regular"?
Every time you use it, weekly, monthly, whenever you have a load of MF to wash?

If I just wash them when I do a load of MF, that might be a half dozen uses of the mitt before I wash it.
I have a lot of MF and I don't usually do a load until it's a full load.

When i say regular I was referring to a 2 bucket wash vs a rinseless one. As for washing them it tends to be about once a moth. I also keep a few mitts so if one seems to look a bit rough then it goes to the side and I grab another mitt.
For the $5-$6 it's easy to keep a few of them around :D

Seeing as how my wash media varies from $2 grout sponges through MF mitts, cotton chenille mitts, sheepskin mitts, cotton chenille covered sponges, the Cobra Bone MF covered sponge, and sea sponges, there is certainly no reason for me to not change wash media often.
Still, I wonder if it is necessary. The old wash media never seems to get completely clean, but I don't see any marring from it. Maybe just the water rinse is enough. :dunno:

i throw my sheepskin in the washer every once in awhile. regular detergent. summer? well, i just got done moving my supplies from the garage to the house to prevent freezing. :(

I feel that it depends on the material.
With sheepskin mitts I felt comfortable just rinsing them in a bucket of clean water till they rinsed clear (no soap residue), but with my other mitts even rising clear I can sometimes see that the mitt looks dirty. I'm sure that it is fine but after 2-3 uses I can't bring myself to use it. Must be one of those OCD things :crazy2:
