This is historic being the first black president but that's the only positive thing I see with Obama getting in. The only reason he got in is because nobody wanted another Bush.
That is a rather pessimistic view. Obama got in because people liked what they heard. To say that Obama only got in because his supporters were against Bush is naive and insulting.
His stands on partial birth abortion turns my stomach. He is for destroying the institute of marriage. His foreign policies are another reason to be concerned about him getting in.
The term "partial birth abortion" was created to make a very rare procedure sound inflammatory. The facts are that this procedure is done only in cases where the mother's life is in danger or the baby is not viable. A little research will always trounce rhetoric.
Destroying the institute of marriage? How is this? he has already stated opposition to xxx marriage. With a 50% success rate, I never realized that the institute was perfectly healthy. I do disagree with Obama here. I don't feel that the government should impose their religious views to discriminate against a group of people with different beliefs.
What is wrong with his foreign policies? Just because he isn't a bomb/kill/shoot/invade first, talk later kind of guy?
"Wake up" is an interesting choice of words for the title of this thread. It should tell us something that the enemies of America are glad to see him get in. Could it be so they will gain advantage over us? I don't believe it's so they can "talk" to us.
I think the choice of words had more to do with the time of his post than anything else. How did you know that our enemies are glad to see him in? Did you take a survey? The current administration only increased the numbers of our enemies.
Perhaps the scariest consequence of all are his plans to stop showing favor to Israel. Being a Christian, I believe it is our alliance with Israel that has blessed us as a nation.
Please link me to his comments about his desire to stop showing favor to Israel.
I do not like a lot of what Bush has done since he has been in office but I think it's unfair to blame him completely for our economic down turn.
I feel he and the policies had more to do with the current economy than the Republicans will ever admit. Between the massive deficit, a needless war and his policies of deregulation. his administration helped much of this.
I have one more thing to say before I get off my soap box. The media should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have treated Sarah Palin. It's also disgracefull that there is a movie in our theatres that is disrespecting our president the way it is.
This victim mentality has to stop. I thought the Republican were all about personal responsibility. Instead, they run and cry about bias when they are called out on anything.
Palin made herself look bad. She couldn't even get through a fluff interview with Katie Couric. She was selected because of her ulra right wing views and ideology. She turned out to be woefully uninformed on both national and international issues. Add in her corruption and ethical issues and she was really not the fresh direction they marketed her as.
As far as the movie W goes, I didn't see it, nor do I plan to do so. I think the reaction to it was more of the victim-hood that plagues the right wing.
Bottom line is Obama scares the crap out of me and I hope I'm wrong about him.
Palin scared the crap out of me. She was vastly unqualified for the job and the fact that she wanted to make the VP position more powerful scared me.
