hi all, it's been awhile since i've been around, i'm looking to try some new polish.

i have used 3m, meguires, poorboys, and a few others.

looking to try optimum polish.
but i also want to try menzerna.

other products i'm looking to try.

black diamind
polish with sealant (love pwc):bigups
red moose
polyseal
and about 101 others!

I have tried the optimum line thanks to a DC member. I think it's a good polish, however, I don't really know that it impressed me so much as to make me quit using what I normally use.

what polish are you using?
I seem to have settled into somewhat of a routine.
My polishes have been narrowed down to:
Optimum Poli-Seal
Poorboy's PwS
Meguiar's #80
All are used with a PC at a speed of 5 or 6 and a polishing pad.

Which I use is somewhat dependent on the LSP I plan to use after it.
For NXT 2.0 or S100 Carnauba, I use #80
For Opti-Seal, Poli-Seal is my choice
For Dura Gloss #105, PwS

FWIW, the Poli-Seal and the PwS seem to work equally well prior to a sealant. I don't know about durability, but to me, both products look good even when no LSP is added.
I have reservations about using a sealant over the #80 because of the "Trade Secret Oils". The NXT 2.0 does seem to work fine over it though.

I have been reaching for SSR2.5 alot lately.
A good product, but somewhat aggressive for my usual needs. I have never used it for anything but spot correction, not a complete vehicle. It pretty much replaced Meguiar's #83 for me.
2.5 and #83 seem quite comparable.

My polishes are Prima Swirl and Finish, Menz SIP and 106ff, Meg #105, 151 and 80, Danase Swirl Abolishers. I have Optimum polish but I only use it with 105 to allow me to work the 105 in longer with the PC. I always start off with a test panel I go with my least aggressive combo and work up from there. Swirl is nice it cuts almost as well as SIP but finishes down like 106ff so this is my most used. I reach for 151 if I am doing a family or friends car that is a DD. I just received some samples of 1Z polishes but I have not tried them yet.

I use pro polish to clean everything, even a few things around the house, I thing my brother acually has it right now.

It seems i have been coming across pretty bad swirls, thats why i have been using 2.5
if the paint is in pretty good shape #80 or PWC, would be fine. This summer i had to detail about 4 cars with pwc. it's fast and effective, but can't do the job of 2.5

Charles, how would you compare poliseal, pws, and pwc?
as far as swirl removal ,protection and looks. I have only used pwc.

Good question.
All have worked quite well for me and I can't say that I noticed any real difference.
I haven't used the PwC as much as the other two since I use sealants a lot. I was always a little concerned about the carnauba content affecting the bonding of a sealant. Many people have used it with a sealant, but I never felt comfortable with that. It did work great as a cleaner prep for a carnauba wax.

optimum polish?
menzerna sip?
menzerna power finish or nano?

these are some polishes i'm looking at maybe you could help me choose

I'm going to pick up menzerna sip and 106ff, along with a few other things, I'm just wondering why detailcityshop doesn't carry clearkote? now I may have to pay two shipping fees.
