Suggestions & Opinions Please

This weekend I'm going to detail a friends Lexus. It is white, I think its a pearl white so it has some flecks in the color. I don't think it has much in the way of swirls and scratchs. So here is my thought...

1. PB PwS
2. PB White Diamond Glaze
3. Sealant or wax? I'm not sure!

For sealant choices I have DP and WDGS

For Wax I have Natty's Blue, Natty's Red, DP Max Wax, and Souveran.

What do ya'll think about this process? Should I go with a sealant or wax on top of the White Diamond and which sealant or wax? I know it is preference but I'm asking for opinions here.

Any other ideas are appreciated.

Sorry I have not used PB products.
My got to on white is to clean with Duragloss 501, (if I use a glaze) Danase Wet Glaze, then top with either DG 111, Meguiars NXT 2.0 or FK Hi Temp 1000p.

1. The PwS sounds like a great prep for a finish that is in decent shape to start with.
2. I don't use glazes, but it seems that those that do have good things to say about the White Diamond.
If I was going to use a sealant, I don't think I would use a glaze.
3. I prefer sealants for cars that I can't take care of regularly, but I don't know what DP or WDGS are.
4. I haven't used any of the waxes you list, but I think I would prefer using a wax over the glaze rather than a sealant.

I'm rather old school in that I don't think sealants over waxes or glazes is a good thing.

Addendum: The PwS might be all you need to use for a complete job. It is a pretty good AIO and I hear it has decent durability on its own.

1. Clay (most important)
2. Polish/Glaze (no brand preference)
3. Sealant (Wolfgang)
4. Souveran

I did a light gray Accura this way about two weeks ago...stunning!

Thanks for the replies.

CharlesW, DP sealant is DP Premium Sealant from AG. I don't think they sell it anymore. The WDGS is Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant.

In the past I would not put a sealant over a glaze nor a glaze over a sealant, but as I understand it the White Diamond is designed to apply that way. If I'm wrong someone please let me know!

Given all the good things I have read about the Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant and what I just read about the White Diamond, the choice is a little easier.
1. PwS
2. White Diamond
3. Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant
Seems like it should be a great combination and a nice side benefit is that you already have all 3 products. :bigups

Thanks Charles, that sounds good. I wish I had some PB sealant. Next order perhaps.

Sealant may be the way to go since it is a friends car that I don't normally detail. In fact this will be the first time.

I have an update on the project. I saw his car today. The outside looks good. PwS will be an easy job. I may have to shorten my effort on the exterior because his interior is not so great. The floor mats are stained and the leather seats are really dirty!

Can White Diamond be left as an LSP over PwS? Would that look good or be a watse of effort if I don't top the White Diamond?

you are better off topping the PwS with either the Natty's Red or Blue .. White Diamond is a glaze not a LSP ;)

Preface-i may be wrong......

I believe that White Diamond has a cleaner in it, so it may remove the sealant.

I'm pretty sure that Steve has addressed this previously, but I couldn't find the thread.
Anyway, as I remember it, the cleaners are very mild and dependent on how the product is applied. Just wipe on and it will do little to no cleaning and should not affect the PwS.

Thanks Steve. But PwS, White Diamond and Natty's would be good, or no?

yes that would be great ..i toughtyou were limited on time ;)

The list as you suggest would do you well. :bigups

If time is short I would use PwS alone. Decent durability for an AIO.

absolutely ... my truck just washed by Pockets yesterday has PwS only on it an even Pockets couldn't believe how great it shines after 4+ months;)

exactly :bigups used with a finishing pad and low speeds it won't remove anything :)

Thanks for all the advice and suggestions. I ended up trying a few different things and after an all day detail the car turned out great.

I will post the process and pictures tomorrow.
