I just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I need lots of advice. I own a 2007 black corvette It has never been detailed and is showing some swirls. I'm looking to buy a porter cable buffer and I need some advice on what else I need to buy and where to buy to get my car back to it's original condition . Thanks!

Welcome to the group:howdy Thats a nice car and a nice color. All be it tought to maintain. But if you follow the advice of some of the great people here you will find yourself keeping that black car clean and shiney.

Welcome to the site from Sonoma County CA

My suggestion on your black paint is to look at the Poorboys World line of product..its real easy to use, will work great by hand and machine...good on the pocket book!

There are a few steps that you need to go threw...cleaning the surface of the paint...clay is that step...removing the swirls...light cut compounds are that product...polishing stage...mild polish to continue to remove swirls and smooth out the finish...that brings back the luster in the paint and then your toppers...glaze, sealant and wax...That a basic description of the process...I would start by looking up each of the process I've outlined and see what others have done and what products they used...lots of good info on this site

I just finished a black corvette a few days ago and most of the paint was very easy to deal with. I had to take the rotary (high speed) out to take care of the front and back sections though. They don't respond as well to dual action polishing in a lot of cases.

Welcome to DC.

I'm Glad to be here. I ordered a pc and the poor boy world paint care package . Will I need anything else? My vette has light swirl marks due to me not knowing how to wash it properly. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
