Double Bucket?

Any one have experience with the double buckets that are available?
I'm pretty sure I have seen them at one of our local stores and as I remember them, one might work good for rinseless washing. I only use a total of 2 gallons for a rinseless wash, one gallon for washing, one gallon for rinsing the mitt.
Having to move just one bucket around would seem to be an advantage.

I'd be interested as well. I only use about 2.5 gallons of wash solution.

I think these are available at Wally World or the likes of that

That's similar to the one that Lowe's carries.

It probably would do fine, but it almost seems like the ones I remember were just a little smaller and possibly even oval in shape.
I'll have to look at Wally World, Target, Home Depot, Menard's here in Ankeny. The nearest Lowe's is about $5 worth of gas from me. :D

That link didn't work for me. I have to get a new bucket as well...the handle on mine came off...I've been using a 2.5 gallon round bucket for years...its just a standard no frills bucket...The cars in this area do not go threw what you guys have out in your area...so its not always necessary for me to have two sides to the wash bucket...however I could see the use for other parts of cleaning like rugs and such

If you can wait one more day, I plan to be at Target, Home Depot, Menard's, and Wal*Mart today and check what they might have.
I will probably post my findings this afternoon about 2 or 3 PM.
The bucket shown is a stock item at Lowe's and should be readily available. It probably would be a good choice, but it seems a little bigger than needed for just the two gallons of rinseless wash I use. 19 qt. would be a little over 2 gallons per compartment. Using only one gallon per compartment might result in a pretty shallow depth and keep the dirt stirred up a little more than wanted.

Hey, it's only a bucket and I'm planning on visiting possibly 5 stores to check it out. :D
I do need to pick up some stuff at HD, though. :notme:
 
We have cats so I have been buying kitty litter that come in very sturdy rectangular shaped plastic buckets (holds like 40 lbs of litter). They are more rigid than a typical round wash bucket so I have started using the for washing so they are only used for washing. The round buckets end up being used for yard work.

I was planning to create my own double bucket with rollers. The rectangular shape makes it a 2 bucket pair more compact than 2 round ones and then I was going down to Harbor Freight to get the cheapest furniture dolly (I think around $12), I then would put a platform on the dolly to hold the buckets. In a pinch, I could remove the platform and use it as a dolly. If you buy the casters, etc yourself, you would also spend the same money.

Anyone else tried this approach?
 
Target and Wal*Mart didn't have any two compartment buckets that I could find.
Home Depot and Menard's both had the Rubbermaid Double Bucket that Beemer linked to.
Same price at both stores, $12.97
I didn't go to Lowe's since the $1 higher price that I paid was still cheaper than driving 20+ miles to and from their store. I also felt that the Rubbermaid product was a known brand and I had never heard of Cleanco other than on the Lowe's web-site.
The fact that it is a 17 qt. should be better for my 2 gallon use, too.
I did pour a gallon of water in one compartment and I think the depth will be fine.
 
This is the kind for fat boys like me, one for each cheek. :D At that price it ought to be the neatest thing since sliced bread.

It's very possible that the Rubbermaid info was not 100% correct. I think it is the same 19 qt. capacity as the one at Lowe's.
After all my talk about the cost of going to a Lowe's store, I ended up driving by one tonight. :)
The bucket they had was labeled "Harper" and looked identical to the Rubbermaid bucket. Normal price was $12.97, same as the ones at HD and Menard's. Maybe the oil companies are setting the prices at the lumberyards. Interesting that all three were the same regular price.
Anyway, it looks like you should find one at Home Depot, Lowe's or Menard's for about $13.

That is a great idea. You could probably build a really cool platform to fit those square buckets.
 
Double Bucket Follow Up

It finally stopped raining long enough for me to try out the Rubbermaid double bucket with a 4 in 1 rinseless wash.

It worked as expected and at this time, I am very happy with it.
One gallon of wash solution in each compartment, one for washing, one for rinsing out the sponge/mitt.
When I do a rinseless wash, I mix up the solution with hot water in two gallon jugs, then pour it into the bucket at my wash site. One of the rectangular style jugs fits in each compartment for storage and carrying with enough extra room for a cotton chenille wash mitt and a sea sponge to be stored there as well.
So far, it looks like a good investment.

I use the rectangular buckets too! Much easier to carry but I may follow your lead and find/build a carrier for them.

the most expensive part of this whole system are the dolly's ... :hmmm: but I'm sure even if it was cheaper, it would be a bit of overkill for a individual ..as it says, "for the Professional detailer " :notme:
 
I'll just lug,drag my two(individual) five gallon buckets around the car/s as I go.Maybe that's why I'm so :passout:.:passout:
