DP 4 in 1 or ONR?

Any comments about the pros & cons of these two rinseless washes from users of both products would be appreciated.
Actual experience with the two products for comparison is what I'm looking for.
I have used both and I really don't see any real difference in them when used as a rinseless wash.
There are those that say less ONR is needed per wash, yet I read where many people use the same amount of ONR as recommended for 4 in 1. Right now, ONR is priced about $5 less per gallon and that might be the deciding factor in my decision when I order more of either one.

Interesting post, or it should be when you get some responses. I've only used the DP 4 in one, but based on what you said and from reading other psosts it seems that the two are very similar. I'd go for the money saving!

If people were using the two products as per the instructions, the ONR should be much cheaper to use.
DP 4 in 1 recommends 1 oz. per gallon of water where ONR recommends 1 oz. per 2 gallons of water.

But, from what I have been reading, many people are using the ONR at a 1 oz. per gallon of water ratio which eliminates some of the possible savings.

My concern is less the cost and more with any possible advantages in the use of one versus the other.

I use the ONR at the recommended dosage and it performs as advertised Charles. I don't have any experience with the DP though.

I've only used DP 4 in 1 and it works fine. Never used ONR, but everyone raves about it.
I did however read somewhere that 4 in 1 interfered with some LSP's bonding, whereas ONR didn't.
I haven't had any problems. I seem to recall it was an issue with only a couple of specific LSPs.

I've only used ONR and QEW. For the price either one is more cost effective than DP4in1. Why bother with it?
lol
That one is easy. :)
I bought my DP 4 in 1 when AG had it on sale for $24 per gallon.

At the time, I had read a lot of posts from people that thought the 4 in 1 left a better looking finish.
Since that time, I have read several posts from people that thought the ONR left a better looking finish.
Has the ONR been changed or was it just a difference of opinion?

Having used QEW, ONR, and 4 in 1, I think I prefer the ONR and 4 in1 over the QEW. They both seem to be slightly slicker when used.
With the present pricing putting the ONR about $5 a gallon less money, that could be a factor in choosing.
But,,,,, If there is a decided benefit to one or the other, the price difference really isn't much of a factor.

FWIW, A thread at AGOL is what got me wondering again.
[email protected] made a comment that caught my attention. In a poll about 4 in 1 use, he said, "All in all, it is in my opinion, the most versatile and cost-efficient product we sell..." Since AG also sells ONR, he evidently felt the 4 in 1 had something to offer beyond the ONR.

There again, that was just one opinion. :)
That's why I'm trying to get some more opinions. Preferably from people that have used both ONR and 4 in 1.

All the replies are appreciated, but it is difficult to have an opinion of something you haven't used. :)

Yeah, the fact that DP is a "house" brand where as Optimum is not. I don't think that either one is vastly superior to the other and, like a lot of other products, it comes down to personal opinion. I could not justify paying more, but I'm happy with ONR. Even if he really does think that, it's like you said, that's one opinion.

I was wondering if DP was a "house" brand of autogeeks. :lol2:

The fact that DP is a "house brand" may have some influence on Matt's opinion.
From my own experience, I would have to say that it is a very good product.
Better than ONR? :dunno:
Actually, I thought they were pretty equal.
While I have read comments about 4 in 1 smelling much better then the ONR, I can't say that I noticed the odor of either product.

Autogeek has some pretty impressive "house brands" available.
The Pinnacle, Detailer's Pride, Wolfgang brands that I'm aware of. Possibly even more.

As of right now, when I need to order more of a rinseless wash, the price at the time will probably be the deciding factor.

I have used ONR at QD strength and notice that it does not really stick to vertical paint surfaces like a some detailers I have used. The detailers I have used have something that sticks to the paint more. Does the DP product stick better. I use ONR at QD strengths on bugs and bird bombs but never over a large area. What I do like about ONR (and obviously DP) is that you can do spot cleaning (like the roof or the trunk) without having to wash the entire car due to soaps getting on everything.

Just a heads up.
The Detail City Store, (Troy), has ONR gallons for $35.96 right now. That's $10 less than the 4 in 1 and that was enough to make up my mind for me. With the 10% DC discount, the price is less than $33 a gallon.
I only ordered one gallon so he probably still has some in stock. :)
