Power Cords

Detailing Gnosis
Is there a clever way to manage the power cord to polishers? I put the cord over my shoulder to keep off the paint but it tends to fall off when you move around. It almost would be nice to have some velcro wrap on the cord so it will stick better when over the shoulder.

Looking for something creative, not a $13.95 accessory from a detail place.

Get a reeled cord and hang it from the ceiling. I'm pretty sure I haven't seen those at the detailing places that sell accessories.

I've always thought about making a loop to go around my neck with a hook that would hold the cord on my shoulder. I would have to remember it was hooked on me otherwise I would set the polisher down and walk away with the cord still attached to me. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to sew and try it.

There are some detailing aprons that have cord minders on the shoulder and waist.

Google for "Shoulder Holder Microfiber Detailing Apron"

LOL at the wrap around the neck suggestion.

I can only picture in ming some
"Final Destination" accicent where the rotory buffer spins out of control hanging the operator.

sorry, bad imagery.

Over my right shoulder and take where the cord attachs to the extension cord, and stick that in my left pants pocket.

Piece of velcro loop around your center belt loop.
Just wear a belt and run the cord underneath it.

Do the little cord loop/knot( you know to prevent the cords from pulling apart) around your belt.

I went to the local hardware store picked up a small carabeener(spelling) and clip it to the back belt loop on my pants then run the cord though it.

Recntly i found this and have been thinking of getting one.

While the original poster may not have any interest in the MF apron, those that do might want to check out Auto Geek. What appears to be the same apron as the $17.95 one at Chemical Guys is only $12.99 and you should also get the 10% DC discount which gets the price down to $11.69. You not only save quite few dollars, you also support a forum sponsor.
FWIW, I have one and like it, but it may not be for everyone.
