New member here with a new car, want to start on the right foot! Need advice (pics inside).

Hello all,

I was browsing this forum and noticed how educated and passionate you guys are about your rides so I decided this would be the best place to come to.

Just got a brand-new 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS (Rave Red). Want to keep my investment "showroom" shiny......I'm new to all of this, so would anyone be so kind to point me in the right direction?

So far I've gotten these items:

Armor All Microfiber Wash Mitt
Armor All Car Wash/Wax (2 in 1)-Carnauba
The Absorber

That's it thus far.

Also, what are your opinions on Nose Masks/Bras or car covers? On Mitsubishi's official website they have these items available for the Eclipse. Please note I commute to work everyday on highway in a relatively dirty area (rocks, dirt).

Any advice?

Spend lots and lots of money trying lots and lots of cleaners, polishes, waxes, sealers, glazes, & dressings. Try as many as you can until you find the one that works best for you (for a virtual conucopia of products, you might check out our sponsors); wash it religiously (for optimon results: every other day), wax/seal/glaze it no less than weekly & use an express detailer as a follow-up anytime it shows the slightest signs of dust. This will undoubtbly keep it "showroom shiny"

Oh, and if you're driving the 91 frwy ;) maybe a clear bra might be the way to go.
 
To supplement what I had said, I would start with Meg's Gold Class or Mothers Car wash (Duragloss 901 if you have a CarQuest nearby) and Meg's NXT 2.0 or Mothers FX wax. After you get your car properly protected, you can then decide where to go since you have so many choices.
 
dr. detail you must know me. Thats almost my routine except it frequently gets washed daily. And waxed / sealed more than weekly. LOL.

I really like your ride!! :D

I myself don't like car bra's. Over time the area that has been covered by the bra will begin to fade (the paint that is) :eek:. Neither do I like the idea of taking it off & putting it back on every time I detail my ride :passout:. However that's just my take on it other's may have a different opinion of the topic.

i totally agree with this guy, me right now im a new member also but i've been trying different stuff(im on the mothers/megs train right now) and im about to get a pc7424 with products from PB/wolfgang/pinnacle
