I found Collinite at Harbor Freight today?!

...Dreaming on an E92....
Yeah :wow:

Went there to see if they still had a small air polisher kit I liked and figured I'd see what kind of stuff they had in the auto care section. I was surprised to find Collinite 476s and no. 845 Insulator wax. Hence I did not pick any up, I wasn't sure which Collinite products everyone raves about, and I also thought maybe because it's HF they got the 2nd and 3rd hand batches of product? Either way, I might go back and pick some up. It was only like $13/bottle I think...

You may get some different opinions, but.....
For me, the #845 Insulator Wax was very easy to apply and remove. It looked good and seemed to last a long time.
The #476S was an absolute PIA to remove the two times I tried it. I gave it away.
Many people say you just have to know how to use it properly. Could be, but I figure I have too many products that are easy to use to want to waste my time on one that gave me a problem.

i never had a problem with 476s. i did leave it on for like 1 hour before i wiped it off. have used it 5 times with ease of use. mine was the paste verison not the liquid version. not sure if that matters

Both are very durable, but 476S is more so. The 845 is easier to use. The paste (476) is not hard though. Put it on very thin (just like any wax) and you shouldn't have any issues. I never have. Some WOWO, but I go all the way around the car and then take it off.

Interesting. If I remember correctly, I was told I left the #476 on too long. I waited for it to haze and had problems removing it. It was suggested that I just wipe it on and wipe it off without waiting for it to haze. By then, I had given it away and had no further interest in the product.
#845 is a liquid and the 476S is a paste.

The 845 is easier to use.
I would agree with that. :)

Can't agree with this though. :D
I do apply products thinly and did that with the 476S and still had a problem. You are right about my not having any issues with it, it's history as far as I'm concerned. :)

The only two products that I can remember being a real pain to use are the 476S and Meguiar's #7.
Lots of people use and like them, but like I said, there's too many easy to use products available for me to have any interest in either.
Everyone should try both. The #845 is very easy to use. Try it and the 476S will probably end up on the shelf. Or you can give it away like I did. You can find a couple of members right here that would take it off your hands. :D

I agree with Charles on this one, I have the 476s and while its a good wax from the standpoint that it does provide great protection, if it gets left on to long it is like trying to take off cement...

I love 476s and 845. I put 845 on with the PC very thin. You can barely see it. I then let it sit for about an hour. Remove it.

I then come back and apply a coat of 476. Very thin and only two panels at a time before removing. I also use a terry cloth towel here. Takes it off like a breeze. I get 4-5 months protection with this combo. Maybe longer but I just put on a coat in the time period.

#845 is a liquid and the 476S is a paste.

maybe i didnt have a problem getting it off after letting it sit for 1 hour cause i would spray the panel with liquid soveran QD then wipe it off.
