Impressions of Wolfgang & Merzerna SWR & Polish

Just One More Coat
I got in on Autogeeks specail for the Wolfgangs & Merzaerna blends...his Finishing glaze and total swril remover...I had a jet black MB to work on and the paint was somewhat trashed...I will have this car for a week so the pics posted are not the finished product

I started with washing then clay..then used the PC and PB PP to clean the paint even further.

Then the WG with the rotary and a polishing par..using the WG SWR it worked the surface very well, cut the swirls pretty fast...it reminds me a lot of a blend of PP and SSR2.5...Its not real thick and easy to work doesn't gum up the pad to fast (about half the car I started cleaning the pad) it doesn't sling to bad not like others I have worked with...and not a to of dusting to speak of

Once I cut the car I then started on the finishing glaze...with the rotary and a finishing pad...this has a high gloss and cutting power at the same time...its a very thin liquid product that works the surface with ease....The finish was just a bit oily looking to me but that settled down with a cold water wipe down

At this point the car was like a mirror working with halogen lights I could see very little swirls in the paint...I then use PB BH glaze by hand...and that's where I stopped...I plan on putting on a sealant and then topping off with Nattys red over this next week.

Pics look great, nice job eliminating those swirls...so did I read correctly, the WG Glaze acts like a mild polish? I ask because you said it had cutting power...

Dave, I'm glad to see you tried out the new WG. I was hpoing someone would do a write up on it. I can't wait to see what the car will look like with sealant and Natty's. Can you post final pics of the MB? Reminds me of my ride. Great work!:bigups

I read that on the site about it..I knew it was a mild polish...very similar to P-w-C IMO

Yes I will I wanted to take pics of ever step but I am way to focused to do that I like to keep moving...is your car single stage? this car was like working on SS paint lots of paint coming off on the pads

Interesting...wonder why they call it a glaze...oh well...looks good either way...

In another thread I talked about the misuse of the word glaze in products..to me a glaze doesn't have any cutting power at all its a POP and filler step for me

same here...I have noticed with certain glazes not all a definite darkening of the paint...along with filling abilities...

Hey I hear you on that one I'm usually so focused and busy I forget about the pics. Yes my paint is single stage. I think I might pick up some WG. Do you think you got so much paint on the pad because the paint was oxidized badly or because those WG polishes have the Menzerna that is recommended for ceramic clears?

The paint wasn't that bad in oxidation just tons of swirls was all...I did this car last year for them...I was lifting paint like crazy but that's what I needed to do in order to get the swirls out...The cool part about working SS paint is you can work a lot of defects out of the paint

I also tried out the new WG 3.0 combo this weekend briefly. I tired both with a UDM and my Makita rotary. The finishing glaze 3.0 is very impressive. It isn't your typical glaze at all, it's basically just a final polish, I did not notice any oils, filling or protection abilities. A mighty good final polish I might add :rockon, not to steal this thread away from BB (which the Benz looks spectacular) here is a pic after using the glaze with a UDM and a finishing pad:
