Need Some Prayers

Had a not so nice surprise today. When we got back from DetailFest yesterday our oldest daughter Tricia was not feeling well. She had flu like symptoms so we kept her home today. Around noon time the started to complain about a stiff neck and was getting worse.

Sheila took her to the emergency room which is where I am right now. They are concerned that she may have Meningitis. They did a CAT scan already and are performing a spinal tap right now.

I'm not sure what Meningitis is but I've been told it can be life threatening so we really could use some prayers.

WOW what a sad thing to return to :( ... i certainly hope it's not meningitis  give my best to Sheila and we'll continue to  for your daughter

I am praying for her now, I hope all turns out well...

Meningitis is an inflammation of the meninges, the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord. It is usually caused by bacteria or viruses, but it can also be caused by certain medications or illnesses.

If she does have it, from what I have read the Bacterial form is very rare, and if its the Viral form which is more common is not as serious...but does take on flu like symptoms...glad your wife caught it and brought her in.

Hope all works out well. I gave my rents the same scare when I was 10 and it was a false alarm. I hope yours is a false alarm too.

The spinal tap went fine. I will update when I know something more. She is feeling much better and is definitely feeling the effects of all the medication they put her on.

Thanks everyone.

I'm just seeing this...
Good that you reacted quickly.
And even better that she is responding to medication.

My cousin had spinal menengitis when she was a child.
It was very serious, she was in the hospital for a while.

I know someone in California that started with flu-like symptoms.
The doctors are still trying to figure out what is wrong with him.
Tick-type diseases are suspect.

You can't assume things like this will cure themselves.
Is she still in the hospital?

Will watch for updates.

Glad she is feeling a little better...how old is she?

Its always tough for kids, you never want to see them like that...

Troy,

Glad to hear everythings OK !!! My sister in law had viral menegitis this year, and it was tough. Took her about 3 weeks to fully recover.

The bacterial menegitis is the real bad one.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Troy and his family...I am praying the best for your Daughter..

Al
