The Detail From H*ll

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
I did a big Ford F150 yesterday...it was pretty messed up from two long trips to the snow...no big deal to me!

The part that got me was it seemed like everything in that detail was a hassle...the electrical cord was always caught on something...I felt like I was constantly looking for the product that I had just set down...I swear at times the bottle just disappears:D

I dropped the clay, that one got me...

I don't know about you guys but once in a while I have details like this.

The end result was great and it didn't take me longer than normal.

It just felt like a struggle at times

We all have those days..but  you are here to talk about it :bigups

I feel your pain...we all have details like this, where you forget where you put things, you drop stuff, like clay...stuff gets tangled...

I was vacuming a car then spent about 15 minutes looking for brush attachment only to realize I was holding it in my hand...

I saw someone posted about a detail cart, I could use a good one with wheels, my problem is I put stuff down then go to the otherside and forget where I just put it...

I know Steve just a rant more than anything...The customer has been with me for years....he was really happy with the results...I wet sanded a key mark that was installed my an X...I picked him up at a local pub on the way back, a few guys came out to have a look at it, I was talking about my process and charges, etc...one guy tells me that he can do a better job for half the cost...I'm amazed by how alcohol can make an idiot out you:lmfao

All I said was OK you can do the truck next time!:D:D:D

I do the same thing...I spent a good 5 minutes ( a car wash for some) looking for the QD spray that I had just set down....turns out it was on the shelve that I walked by three or four times:redface:

To alcohol the cause and solution to all of lifes problems -Homer Simpson

I get people like that all the time, they don't realize the effort and cost that goes into detailing. There answer is all you need is some rubbing compound and one of them buffers...

Hey Dave, was it a pre-senior moment? I have them all the time at the age of 51!! My wife loves laughing at me when it happens. There's an old saying "Instant a$$hole, just add alcohol!"

I do that all the time...thinking I had been using a product when I never even took it off the shelf...

When you are ass deep in alligators it is hard to remember that all you wanted to do was drain the swamp. :rofl

I have days like that.:surrender

- I've never struggled with any car I ever touched.
- I'm not a dummy so I always know where I set my wax bottle (I can never find the tuna when I look for it though).
- Big dirty work trucks are just as easy to me as the rarely driven show car.
- I can do a car wash in 4 minutes and 59 seconds flat with one hand behind my back.

I'm sorry beemerboy. I just can't relate to your frustrations.:lmfao

Ok so I might not have been entirely truthful. To be honest I never look for tuna.

I never have that problem but maybe that is because I won't eat tuna

looks like we need to put a ban on tuna so....

You folks are hilarious!!

I have a hard time finding products as well BeemerBoy. I know the reason for my dilemas. I am just not very organized. One thing that has helped me is cutting down on the products that I purchase.

I spent a lot of time and money deciding what products that I use for my details. Having a dozen LSP's seemed to exacerbate my search problems. So I gave away all the extra products. Lately it seems that I am back to the old purchasing of new products again. It brings back old problems that I thought that I had dealt with. Hmmmm...Now where did I put that bottle of "XXX" ???
