Working on a Brand New Car

Beemerboy

Just One More Coat
Yesterday I had the pleasure of working on a brand new 335i BMW...it was a European delivery car...less than 5K on the car as I recall

The reason that I say pleasure is seems like the cars that I get for the most part are in real need of the detailing...have some non correctable paint issues, stains on the carpets that are not coming out, etc.

This cars paint was flawless with the exception of some minor marring from shipping and dealer installed swirls...The car turned out like a gem in and out...again it was one of those details that you just have fun with.

I bite at taking pics but here is one that I got

Looks great, I am sure the picture doesn't do it justice, those rims reflect alot of sunlight making it hard to see the paint, but that just means you did a nice job on those too...

Its nice once and a while to work on something with nice lines, and that wasn't a driven through the woods with five kids all eating mcdonalds...

Nice work:bigups

Yea I bite at taking pics...but your right its nice to work on a car that is easy for a change....Saturdays 4x4 was one of those jobs from hell...I was so beat that I didn't take any pics

What was the process on the paint?

Wash and clay to start...I was surprised that the car didn't really have much stuff on the surface, clay was pretty clean on the finish.

Since the car was in real good shape, very minor marring to speak of..I start with the rotary, edge polishing pad and Presta 1500 polish..Killer stuff!!!

I wiped it down with QD and hand applied a glaze...then went to EXP, by hand...finial wipe down with QD, and the car was mint...Had I had the chance I would have used some Nattys but I could not see getting the car any more shiny and was also concerned with bonding on fresh EXP
