I hate computers

back up :hmmm: :notme:  I got lucky and they saved the hard drive..only lost a little info:passout:

That blows. My work laptop's hard drive crashed with no warning once. It took a few days but the geeks were able to recover my data onto some CD's. I still don't back up like I should.

I spent two hours last Friday at the computer repair place with the owner trying to save it, but it was getting slower and slower and wouldn't download my printer, he told me my best chance of saving my info was to stop before it totally burned out ..
the new computer has a writable disk for backing up if I can figure out how :lol2:

External hard drives are great for this. Some of them have the one button backup, and they will automatically back up your drive for you. Might want to check into it. They can prevent a lot of frustration.

I agree with Blk45, get your self an external hard drive, they are fairly in expensive and just plug into a USB slot. Or there are alot of online storage places that have decent prices for data storage...something like carbonite.com

When my hard rive went two years ago, I lost everything. It was only six months old, so I didn't think it would break down to the point where I would need backups. Suffice to say, I know have a couple layers of backups including an online backup or critical data overnight.

it is a core 2 duo, 1 gb of ram, i think 250 of hard drive. It works pretty fast and steve likes it so thats what matters

I completely agree. They have come way down in price. It is an easy way to keep everything backed up.

I hate computers also. Mine does what it wants to , and it does it very slow, and thats after the scanning and defraging.

You could have alot of adware or malware running on your pc, which set themselves higher on the priority scale in the pc and are memory hogs, download adaware from lavasoft, you can get the free one, it may help your problems.
