I just checked and since March of 2004, I have started no less than 6 threads asking people to list their location in their profile.
When they do this, it shows up under their user name in each post they make. It's free, and it can sometimes be of some benefit.

I decided enough was enough.

I agree Charles.....I think that some are paranoid about letting people know where they are at...security is what come to mind but at very least a state
 
Yeah I mean its not like me who posts that I am the forth gray house on the left and I leave a key under that mat:D
 
I can understand people wanting to keep their identity secure, but a state listing wouldn't compromise anything.

ROTFL :rofl. It is a very handy tool to be able to see but you cant just ask people to give away where they live some people, as said, just don't want to disclose that information i mean there is a lot of people that live in the same place as you its kinda hard to find who you are lol

If you are serious;
Go to the "User CP"
Click on "Edit Profile" in the LH window
In the window labeled "Additional Information" add your location/where you live in the box where it asks for it
Click on "Save Changes"
Done

If it were a required field they would just make up some clever saying like "state of confusion"(jngrbrdman).

All you can do is strongly suggest they add their location and if they don't put them in your ignore list.:rofl
