i was wondering if this thing the Pro heat model is worth buying.......i know that a real extractor is better worth the money and all that but will this get me by for a little while until i feel like shelling out $1,000 for one......right now i'm using elbow power so if this is better then elbow i want it?????????????

The little green machine will get you by. The heater warms the water thats it .
The (LGM) has no specs as for psi, water lift, it's just a $100 unit, that works alright, not good for moderate, to heavily soiled carpets ..

If you want a decent machine, try the bravo spotter made by EDIC, sells for $319 at cleanfreak.com.
I own it and recommend it...

I have a LGM, that I got for in the house to quickly get some small spills up. The problem is it has no lift, it just is not strong enoung and it tends to leave the carpet damp. I usually spray the carpet with the carpet cleaner of choice, attach the brush to my PC go over it a few time then use my shop vac to extract the water/cleaner.

I also would love to get a professional extractor but just don't have the money to do that right now.

If you guys are mobile I strongly suggest building your own extractor, if you have any question about this feel free to P.M. me. I built one and theres only one problem with it and its that I don't know how I went this long without one.

I think you can get a LGM with heater for well under $100. You just need to wait for a sale at Target or other similar place, etc. Kohl's has their LGM (no heater) at $50 to $60 if you time it right (sales plus early bird and charge to their credit card).

I agree with southerndetail. I built on like his from another post and it works great!!! Only cost @$150....It will certainly get me by until I can afford a Mytee...Maybe longer.:bigups

I had a LGM pro-heat for about two years...it was OK for the most part...the lift was not all that great so I was still forced to pre-spot and use a brush to get things loose...then the LGM would pick that up...the results are good, but with the elbow grease and a good shop vac you can accomplish the same....also the drawbacks to the LGM are the recovery and solution tanks are quite small so you are refilling and emptying them a lot during the detail, about twice to three times for one car....the other is the hose is quite short and you have to move the unit allot, kind of a hassle IMO

Out side that its a decent add on, compared to buying the pro-model at 600 plus and up

For the cost it's a great machine. If you spend 10x more you will get a better machine but the LGM works great for the price. I've gotten out some pretty nasty stains with it.

I use a 3.5 hp Shop Vac with an upholstery attachment from a BGCM (Big Green Clean Machine) and it works great.

What is special about the upholstery attachment? I went to the Bissell web site and I see the usual smaller width tools. Is that what you mean?

The upholstery attachment fits on my shop vac and is small enough to get into most of the areas of a car's interior.

Thanks. I had purchased a smaller tool for my Shop Vac at Lowes designed for the Shop Vac. I was looking for something better. Yours seems better -- less wide and better made.

Shop Vac = big manly tool, big manly attachments (but a bit big for auto interiors)

Bissell Steamer = Little girly machine ;), little girly attachments (but so much better for interior work)
