a question for PC owners

distrbd

all in the details
just like most of the detailing enthusiasts here I finally bought a PC ,got a nice deal locally and ended up buying a pc with two white LC pads and a black one.
I am thinking of buying a levelling pad & MF bonnets for buffing the wax off,but after doing a search here I'm not sure it's a good idea to get them since most of you seem to find it easier to use a MF towel to buff wax,so my question to those of you who own a PC is do you also own these bonnets and if so ,was it waste of time/money to buy them?
I have no paint correction to do(the car is still new, doesn't need polishing) so this PC is not being used for the time being so I thought may be I could at least use it to buff the wax.
So please let me know what accessories/pads you think is a must have.
Thank you all.

I have used the bonnets a couple times. They dont really make like anybetter. I find they dont do a faster job, they gunk up realy quickly and have to be flipped. You only have two sides (when you have a cmf cloth you can fold it for 8 sides). I know some people take a soft pad on the pc and put a towel over it and use that..i dont nor do i want to try.. but i would say just buy a mf towel or two.. or 10 .. at the end of the day its easier.

Also as a canadian you are in luck.. eshine sells the best mf clothes I have ever tried. They are grey and like 5 or 6 bucks a peice... well worth it...

Yes I know about the grey MF towels ,got one to try, should have bought more, compare to the ones at Costco, these are much better and softer.

you are right about those mf towels though.

let the games begin.. whats about to happen is you will spend way to much money o a wax.... love it.. use it once and try somthing else..then you will come back to the wax a few months latter love it again and then have a need to try somthig else :bigups... might as well get that credit limit upgrade while they will still allow you to :surrender

You already helped me save some money by not ordering those bonnets ,now I'm thinking,,, hmmm,,what else is there I might need,,.;)

I've never found a need for the bonnets either. A good MF towel is all you really need. You might want to be careful on asking Mike on what products you might need. He may suggest that you purchase 37 LSP's.

i counted my collectiong its only 27... or is it 28.. either way....:hmmm:

Yeah, but I'm sure that you feel the need to purchase more at this very instant.

you know I am actully looking right now. I think there are 5 or 6 from autogeek, a few from properautocare, tons from zymol, and some from chemical guys... so i dont think my collection is done.... i just cant get lsp's outa my mind...

but cumon, im sure you are thinking of buying more as well

Don't get me wrong, I'd like more detailing supplies, but I don't have the money to allocate to detailing right now. I don't even have 10 LSP's though.

Sorry for getting off topic. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Ohhh the slippery slope of detailing.:help:
so I guess the bonnets won't make it to my collection.:)

About two years ago I bought two MF pads they looked like a regular pad but the face of them was fine MF. I used one of them on my hood and it took me several hours to remove all the fine scratches and reapply my LSP
I don't recall the name of them as I threw them in the trash I do remember they were kinda expensive much more than a normal pad.
I apply and remove all LSP by hand
I did a search and found them here is a link

Microfiber Pads 6.5"

I, too, bought a couple of MF bonnets a few years ago and used them once. I then went back to removing LSP's by hand and MF until I tried putting the MF towel under a white LC pad and set my PC speed on 3.5. Works great and is less tiring than removing completely by hand.

The problem with the bonnets is they cake up too quickly and you can't really clean them out to good until they are fully washed. With a larger MF towel I switch to a fresh unused area and do the next section, then flip it over and press on. I still use about 2-3 MF's under the PC to complete a vehicle but I'm less tired by letting the machine do it, especially if it's the second one of the day!

That pad in the link looks good,it could probably be used for applying LSP and buffing.

It appears they aren't good for that.
