2007 S67 Mercedes detail question

I haven't ever done an S65 before, so I'm not sure what to expect. It is a 2007, so I really don't expect it to be very dirty, but any advice on what to look out for would be nice. If you were polishing a silver S65, what would you use? I have actually had pretty good results with Danase Acrylic Sealant on silver, so I was thinking about using that after a wash and clay treatment, of course. Maybe a quick once over with XMT 1 or something to take care of the light surface swirls that may be present. Anything I should know about the interior? It's my first $180,000 Mercedes detail and I want to make a good impression. My next project for this customer is a 722 SLR, so this one is really important to get right. I WANT to do that SLR. :drool:
 
You could put some turtle wax on this car and it would look great.....I have worked on some higher end cars...they are alot easier to work on than the kiddie mini vans and the results always come out...don't worry the car will make you look good...I suggest that you use a mild polish with your PC...polishing pad...I like to glaze at this point but its not necessary....The sealant would be my choice, I find that it makes silver pop well...or you can go straight to paste wax....if you have some time....I would go put a coat of wax on that sealant....again this car will look great no matter what...
 
I just did my uncles silver mercedes, and to be honest you will never see a silver car shine so well! Prep it well and use what ever product you normally use. Maybe step up to a higher end product if you want some stunning results so you impress the owner even more and give him a little more durability? Post some pics
 
I wouldn't even charge the guy to do the 722. I'd just ask him to start it and rev the engine. That car definitely has the most beautiful sounding engine ever. Good luck.:bigups

Hey aren't you the one making how-to videos? I would think you would be answering questions like this instead of asking them.:D

The Menzerna polishes were designed specifically to use on the newer Mercedes "Cerami-clear" finishes. I'm only a parrot here though repeating what I've read. I have yet to try Menzerna but I am planning to very soon.

Sounds like you would be fine using whatever you normally use though. Might be a good time to try the Natty's Red.
 
You should go with Blackfire Polishes and Sealant

Treat it like you would any other car you ever detailed. I am familiar with your work, and your knowledge of detailing. Your customer will be more than happy with your results.
 
the ceramic clear is tougher then normal but its by no means impossible id say slightly harder then corvette clear to polish out... id stick with a light polish and a sealent then top it with a wax... like said above the car is gonna make you look good.... and as for menzerna polishes ive been using them for a couple years now and they are great i like the Sip and finishing polish 2
 
i cant make any recommendations (this is Deanski, Clean Dean, Poorboy, Anthony_Orosco, etc territory), but holy crap....those 722s are no joke. Granted not much advantage over the standard SLR, they are just so much more limited and baller. And the s65...just wow. Take lots of pics:bigups
 
Without seeing the condition, it would be hard to make any plan of attack. I'll tell ya what works for me though -- I have a client with a CL550 AMG in silver & a S550 AMG with the Brabus package in black. He is very anal about his babies (he worked very hard to get where he's at). Both get weekly washes and a light coat (misting) of Mark V Showroom Finish sprayed on after the final rinse but before drying with a chamois. Monthly they receive coatings of Auto Magic BC-2. They both needed light polishing when I added them to the schedule, at which time I went over them using my rotary with 3M Machine Glaze for dark colored cars and a white finishing pad, then a coat of BC2. I've tried other waxes and glazes in spots, but on these garage queens, what I've been using seems to work just fine -- the customer's happy and that, to me, is what really matters.
