I'd like to know just how many of each group we have active on the forum.

Also, which direction would you like to see the forum go? Would you like to see more pros on here answering questions? How about manufactures? I think it's great to have sponsors like Poorboy, Edge and PBMA on here to keep us informed and answer questions about their products.

Would you like to see more sponsors?
 
I mostly do my own vehicle while doing a few other vehicles here and there. I don't advertise and I rarely seek work anymore because of the hours I work. Most of the other vehicles I do are for co-workers.

I think we have a really good balance of pro and hobby detailers here as it is. I like the sponsors we have and am pretty much neutral on whether or not to bring more in. I can think of good reasons to, but I can also think of some good reasons not to.
 
Used to be a real washing and waxing nut detail motor and interior,but then come marriage,kids just no time.But now am getting more into the detailing such as most of the folks on this and other sites,because of the new and easier products for newbies such as myself.It really helps with the wisdom and advice that is here and makes so you want to try.:thanks
 
Pro mobile detailer here.

I'd like to see some more pro's around here. Sponsers would be cool too but they should at least have their own original product line and not be just a mega-store selling the same old re-labeled stuff as the others.
 
If you add the number of years that Charles and I have been detailing it would span 7 decades. I've been detailing about 5 years. :D

Seriously though, I've been at this game about 30 years taking care of my cars, good friends and family.

More sponsors, more exposure. More exposure, more information. More information, more knowledge. Knowledge is a good thing.
 
Not sure how to vote. I'm a long time detailing enthusiast yet am here to pick up tips from folks also. I hate it when the confusion hits.

Ditto Jim : I've been into detailing, used to be a valeter for Mercedes (the money didn't reflect the hours), but don't believe you can NEVER pick up tips from others.

These sites are like gold-dust to people with detailing OCD's like me :bigups
 
Washing and Detailing vehicles of all types has been very good to me. I put my 2 kids through college and continue to hire nothing but kids who are motivated towards education. We do it in 2 separate and fixed locations, and due to current environmental constraints out here that's really the only way I'm comfortable doing this work. My philosophy for the past 5 years has been to do "less for more" and that has worked out nicely.;)

I don't consider myself the best detailer and to be honest I've never really even liked detailing. The products that have come along i.e. Poorboys and the tools of the trade have made it alot better business.
 
I'm pro with a shop, but I would prefer to be an enthusiast or a worker, which I've share before. Love the work (did a beautiful Jag XJ12 this weekend), but the business is a headache.
 
I'm new to this. But I hope to have my own detailing bussines someday. I am very very very lucky to be working with a guy that has so much time under his belt and even has his own line of products. I'm talking about Steve (a.k.a Poorboy) I have learned everything that I know from him and I always love learning all the little tips and tricks that he knows. There is so much more that I want to learn and will hopefully be with steve for more years to come.
 
pro here, work with a new car dealer, detailing there trades.trying to branch out and go mobile.the demand from past clientel is to tempting.You got to love that....that is the best compliment you can get as a detailer:cheers:

i know who you're talking about, haven't seen him in my part of town in awile. Maybe i've just been to busy.
 
I am a fixed location, parttime detailer on the side of farming. Would really like more business, how some people really interested in getting vehicles detailed. RANDAL

lol the check is in the mail for doing my home work.:rofl

I have learned so much in so little time that it often becomes confusing.
