What a pretty blue. I had a truck that was very near that color. I believe it was called starlight blue. Was always my favorite paint.

Sadly, this one was hammered pretty badly with tons of swirl marks and holograms.
I`m not sure who did the damage, but my guess is it was done by the dealership.
I enjoyed stepping back and looking at the "extreme makeover" when it was done.
It turned out pretty sweet when it was finished.

Thanks for posting the compound/polish and the exact pad type-&-name they were paired with to do this three-step "extreme makeover" of this BMW.

Do you ever clean or detail interiors? i know it would make for a much-longer post if you did.

Also, I noticed that judging from the background images in you posted photos of the vehicles you detail that you live in what looks like a residential neighborhood. Do the neighbors ever say anything about the vehicles you detail, or has it become so commonplace now, it`s hardly noticeable anymore?? I ask because the municipality I live in (city of Green Bay, WI) has an ordinance prohibiting businesses run from homes in areas zoned as residential, unless a variance is approved by the city council and special license is applied for, along with paying the fees for it, which must be renewed yearly. This is most apparent when home owners try to sell homemade items or franchise items like Tupperware or Mary Kay Cosmetics from their house and post for-sale ads in the local newspaper classified section. The paper reminds them that the city has ordinances against businesses run from homes in residential areas.
What IS funny is that some just call it a garage or rummage sale. Then it`s OK. Some "homes" have a garage sale with the above-mentioned items once a month during the spring and summer so as not to draw too much attention to it, like it would if it was done EVERY weekend. Go figure.

Dang that blue paint looks like you can stick you hand right into it swirl it around. If it looks that good in a photo I can just imagine.

I don`t do interiors. (see below) I tell folks up front I do not even own a vacuum. Occasionally I might do a quick interior wipe down.
This is something I learned from Mike Phillips. Mike said to me "Nobody ever says...Wow! Look at the vacuum lines on the floor mats."

I will tell a little story...
I had a Uber driver call me and tell me a drunk girl threw up all inside his car last night and it`s been baking in the sun all day...
I don`t think I have ever been so happy to tell someone that I don`t do interiors! (I dodged a big bullet on that one).

My world is polishing paint. (yes, I do exhaust tips, engine bay, trim, windows, ceramic coat the wheels etc.) I stop at the door sills.
The FIRST thing (and for me the most important) is the paint. If I can make a brilliant rolling mirror with four tires...Folks are blown away.

I am a One-Trick Pony - Check out the vid. I love the lyrics.

I try to safely polish paint to perfection. Measure (PTG)/polish, measure/polish 3-5 times all around. It usually takes me 5 days to polish a car.

Also, I noticed that judging from the background images in you posted photos of the vehicles you detail that you live in what looks like a residential neighborhood.

Sometimes, but there are "strict rules" to be allowed, and I follow them very carefully.
I have been ocassionaly "working from home" long before my Covid self-imposed quarantine.
Now it is even more important! BTW - I have heard it called the "Million Dollar driveway".

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, there are those interiors and interior problems NO ONE like to tackle, so I understand your angst about not doing them.

As far as the carpet vacuum striping, Sizzle Chest has that down to a science, and I have told him it is his unique "signature" feature in the vehicles he details. And, yes, I am wowed by it; but then again, Captain Obvious is easily impressed!

Your "one-trick pony" reference is great. There is nothing "trick" about your detailing skills and prowess, however.
Like New York Yankee`s baseball manager Yogi Berra`s famous quote: "It ain`t braggin` if you can do it!"

In all my years viewing your posts, I do not remember seeing YOU in any of them. I say that because I cannot remember seeing your reflection in any of the vehicles you have posted pics of, which speaks volumes about your photographic skills (OR the fact you just may be photo-shy!). Thanks for the pics.

LOVE the Harley-Davidson banner in the garage, my being from Wisconsin. (NO, I am not a H-D lover. 19th century technology at 21st century prices, although the NEW electric motorcycles will definitely change all that. That is if the company survives and the younger generation actually buys them. "Loud pipes saves lives" to "LiveWire One saves the planet"?. I think not)
