Ceramic Coatings

Who were the pioneers of ceramic coatings? I`ve been curious about when it started and who delivered the first market available coating. I know CarPro was one and Optimum as well.

They say tacsystems created carpro but it branched off somehow and hire there own chemists. Germany is also in the mix somewhere i believe besides optimum for the first to market...nothing for certain. Maybe some people who read this forum know but i don`t think many do.

According to Feynlab, they did:

INNOVATION

“There is plenty of room for human imagination to explore and innovate new technologies which enhance and improve our interrelation to nature.”` – Dr Richard Feynman

These words inspired our line of vehicle nano coatings and maintenance products and fuel our ongoing innovation and development. We know, live, and challenge these beliefs daily.

After all, we were there at inception: when the first vehicle ceramic coatings were developed by a founding chemist of FEYNLAB, John Suerth.

Dunno if actually true...probably differing opinions much like other "Who invented the hot dog" proclamations.

The first I remember was Optimum...it`s possible that TAC/Carpro or Feynlab was making them before, but they weren`t here in the US. Opticoat was kind of a revelation at the time, I think it was 2008-ish.

Feynlab, as a company didn’t exist at that point, they came much later, but John Suerth claims that he coined the term ceramic coating and that his chemistry and blends were used for many other companies back in 2005/2006 before it was decided to start producing them under their own banner of Feynlab in the mid 2015’s.

So possibly, technically it wasn’t Feynlab as such, but it was the founder chemist of Feynlab.

Yep. And it was David F`s review that really brought it out to the world.
