You should have seen it "before"...it was loaded...etchings, water spots, swirl marks, etc...

Convertibles are always a small challenge. The client always thinks "it`s easier" because I don`t need to polish the roof.

I have to wash it, clean it, dry it, and seal it. In this case...
I used RAGGTOPP™ Convertible Top Fabric Cleaner with their brush and RAGGTOPP™ Convertible Top Fabric Protectant

Do the Rupe`s compound and polish combo you used work "better" with, what I assume is, M-B`s CeramiClear hard clear coat on this S 550?
I ask because you have an assortment of compounds and polishes from various manufacturers to choose from, so why these two?
(Always the difficult Captain Obvious questions).

That hue of blue is outstanding! I assume it is Anthracite Blue Metallic (Yes, I looked it up on Google!)
As always, love your detailing workmanship and and the pics you posted, especially the "before" pic, so we know what you are up against.

I always try a test spot. I tried a few different pad/polish combos.
Different microfiber pads - They left a micro marring fog.
Different Foam pads - Oddly enough even the dark "cutting" pads didn`t remove the imperfections.
and I tried a couple of different correction/cutting compounds...with less than stellar results.

so why these two?

They worked (Captain Obvious) on this paint! (GRIN)
