Dirt Life ...

My daughter is buying my father-in-law`s 2017 Ford Edge from his estate and you can tell that it spent its 36,000 miles traveling the dirt/sand/clay roads of South Georgia. It had definitely been living The Dirt Life.

So ... before I hand it off to her this week I put Mothers Speed All-Purpose Cleaner and Mothers Back-To-Black Trim Restorer (aerosol) to work this morning.

I`m very pleased with the results. Thanks for the easy to use products.

Nice job under the hood. Is the body next?

Nice job under the hood. Is the body next?

Thanks.

Absolutely. The exterior is on the agenda for Friday morning before it gets too hot. It will probably just get a wash and maybe clay bar and wax on the front. A full multi-step process will have to wait for cooler weather.

Because at 62 ... and with a wonky back ... what used to be a one day project now gets broken up over a few days.

I did the interior on Monday. Thankfully the WeatherTech mats had protected the carpet. So I just vacuumed the carpet and scrubbed the mats before treating them with protectant. Then some Mothers VLR brought the seats, dash, and door trim back to like-new without being too shiny or greasy. (Tuesday was yard work and a big chunk of Wednesday was spent at the tint shop.)

Dang ... August in Florida is not the time of year I would choose to do this!

The vehicle could use some paint correction. Water spots mostly. Some bug "remains." But that will have to wait for another - and cooler - day. So ... I used a clay bar on the hood and bumper to remove some stubborn bug remains and then Mothers Ceramic Hybrid Wax. Even broke out an applicator and refreshed the plastic trim with Mothers Back-to-Black gel.

And I`m spent.

I know the feeling. Cutting the grass is now a 2 day affair. Especially when it`s June, July or August.

I hear you!

I used to only take a break between the front yard and back yard since I have to change the cut height anyhow. .... Now, in the Summer, I take a break halfway through the front, again to change ride height, and a final break halfway through the back yard.
